  1. Seems like a guy from this area went to picachos and it was a numbers game, no monsters over 5-6 lbs but 100+ fish everyday. He did report hearing auto gunfire but I hear that at home haha
  2. Bass is king by a landslide down here, it’s even on a license plate
  3. Went with the wife and k9 mango to the quarry from 5-6 pm. Caught one little bass where the water flows out of a cave into the pond. The girls saw lots of birds and scared 4 deer. Fun evening !
  4. I stayed a night in escanaba this summer, kind of felt like an abandoned town. Mildly sketchy 😂 Black bass are my favorite, with a slight edge to SMB since they are the most common in my area. I don’t know what got me hooked on them, I’ve been a hopeless addict since my first memory

White pine too, note the uninodal growth of all the branches….. oh lord I’ve become the tree nerd
  7. Bout $30/yr for one of them, little less for the shorter boat. Going up again this yr, not sure how much yet
  8. Thank you! Love the history on this stuff.
  9. Hmmm some reason we always called that thing tied to the rod a hellbender
  10. I would imagine trolling a hellbender would get way down deep over 20 ft, those things really pull
  11. This picture was taken at 5:59 pm on Monday and this was at 6:37 with a full moon rising, getting dark but still a sliver of daylight
  12. It’s not exactly quiet and calm like Maine, it’s a zoo for humans most of the year. There were a bunch of people cold plunging in the snow haha. Check out this wild video from the quarry this summer when a cliff collapsed and a resulting tsunami washed people and pets up into the woods
  13. @Dwight Hottle, wasn’t his deep diver a hellbender for that world record ? My grandpa had several of those, I’ve still got one
  14. I’ve got 6 boats and still bank fish often. When it’s raining, when it’s windy, when I only have 30-45 minutes of free time , etc
  15. My house is still covered in snow and ice, I had to implement a hammer to clean the gutters yesterday, that was a first
