Went for a paddle this evening and caught some gizzard shad in my net but couldn’t get any bites on those. Tried a straight tail soft plastic and got 3 crappie, two keepers. Yum

We had dinner with friends scheduled at 6:30, figured I would squeeze in a short trip to quarry from 5-6. Caught 5, all the exact same size. I’ve fished here for 3 or 4 years and never caught a bass of any different size haha. One of them had some black markings, pretty cool. Its eyes were bugged out too, I think I pulled it from way deep. It swam straight back down vertically when I let it go. Some parts of the quarry your lure never hits the bottom so no clue how deep. Fun way to pass an hour

I try not to let them up there but they can be sneaky. Our 14 yr old dog somehow climbed up there the other day, didn’t even know she could do that anymore. Since she’s old I just let her stay there a while and of course she began her skin care routine of licking the tops of her feet, that was the end of couch time

I never keep it at home because I would drink it all and have to go buy more . Hopefully you don’t end up missing it too much in the long run. My wife’s family runs a dairy farm, I don’t know if she could carry on after a lactose intolerant diagnosis. Ironically her brother is lactose intolerant but I think he eats dairy anyway and takes medicine for it

I’ll use any of them. For baitcasters I have always used the old round ambassadeurs. Got my first low profile reel in a while a little over a year ago, a seviin by st croix. It’s been great so far, even got to battle a few nice stripers with it including a 24 lber. I still have 5-6 of the old round ambassadeurs that I also use regularly, those could only be pryed from my cold dead hands
