Launched the canoe at 7 pm and saw fish jumping . Tossed my tiny rapala around again on the 4’10” ultra light and got 5 white bass and two skipjack, missed a few more . Got dark at 8:15 and I beached at the dock, fast and furious. Going to try to feed the skipjack to something massive in the AM before work

Gross! I’d get it at the bait shop once I got there haha my mom nearly strung me up when I put some gulp minnows in her car

Only problem I have with anchoring is I’ve lost several, but also found a few. They get stuck in a rock ledge and they ain’t coming back . I swam around looking for one forever but it wasn’t the smartest thing I ever did in swift rapids my buddy Craig finds them like your papaw finds 4 leaf clovers. He paints them red and hands them out to fishing buddies in need haha. Sometimes in 5 mph water only a danforth or something with a claw will hold but they also might never come loose this is what the drift boaters use but I can’t just chuck $140 into the rapids myself 😂

Little dock fishing before work . Couldn’t get bit on a crappie jig, they were smacking a small rapala up near the top. Also dropped a nice skipjack herring bout 1.5 lbs or so

I dropped a big ole river herring just now. There goes my bait for the weekend, need to find another tomorrow

The only spot like this I can think of in my region is south Holston lake on the border of VA and TN, they came up with a reciprocal agreement

I got a 16” SMB with a crankbait Monday morning in some cold water. Not sure how cold but it was 31 air temp at sunrise

I’ve been crapped on by one, I jumped in the water to rinse off. I think my fishing partner is still laughing to this very day and it was like 9 yrs ago

I’d call and ask, interweb can easily lead people astray. And I’d probably ask two game wardens instead of just one
