Hooking them with artificial is cheating . At least give them something to eat instead of poisonous plastic to choke on

@Crow Horse, that works for me too! A lot of times I ask whoever is fishing with me to pick a spot. Often it’s a spot that looks terrible but fishes well

@Pat Brown, I think they eat the bones like a dog. I usually see carp scales and crushed up crawdad shells in the scat I did see a local YouTube fisherman catch a cormorant underwater with a live skipjack herring, bout a pound

White bass, striper, catfish. We have walleye but not enough to really target , although some do. I gladly reel them in a cook them. Drum hit everything

I don’t believe gators are that far inland but always watch for snakes. They don’t regularly kill anybody but might make for a rough day if one bit you people always worry about things like snakes, gators, etc but they are very low on the danger list. Deer jumping in front of your car is always number one most dangerous wildlife. Domestic dog is usually second. The wild thing that actually hurts people that I would look out for is hornets and yellow jackets

Had about an hour and a half of free time this morning , wind howling again and 34 degrees. Can’t use a worm so I tried a crankbait that a BR member gifted me, seemed like a good idea against shallow rip rap in the waves. Well by golly a 16” smallie grabbed it and fought like crazy! Fun
