Not a kayak, but I’ve canoed whitewater for many years and it’s not if, it’s when. They even got us on one of the camera setups where they sell photos of the carnage online on the hiwassee once 😂. You can see my bill dance hat I’ve flipped in devils jump on the big south fork of the Cumberland at least 5-6 times, it can be tricky. Got the canoe wedged in there open end facing upstream once, that was a pain

I’ve seen mokai out on the river, think they have a 9.9 hp jet. They can shoot up thru shoals. At 5 mph you way end up with a stalemate trying to go upstream

@gim, I think we discussed it before but Rowers have hit a rod I had leaning over the side of the boat. I just let them do it for a “teaching moment” 😂 the university row team is pretty angry but they won’t actually hit you. A small rowing club has taken over a smaller tributary portion of the reservoir and completely ruined it , it’s mostly clueless teenagers that will get in a formation that blocks off the entire river , making boating impossible for everyone else. That is, however, not their worst trait. They are unbelievably loud and giggly, it’s like trying to fish inside a high school @A-Jay, I had to recently take a course in order to legally boat in Alabama. I passed, yet still don’t know what in the Sam Hill it means to be a “stand on” vessel. It was in several of the questions. At least give way makes sense, what does stand on mean? That’s how I do it, if someone is coming right at me I just drive my arse right into a laydown tree on the bank 😂. Rules be damned , I just don’t want to get ran over and the bank is a good place to hide

I’ve heard smoked buffalo is good, but most other ways it’s rubbery. Never had it myself. I had some Asian carp once and it was robust, not in a good way. Drum was not good but not terrible. Gar is actually pretty good but it’s a strange texture, almost like fried clams. Had it grilled before as well and that was not the play. A catfish over 15 lbs is also robust but again, not in a good way. A striper or white bass without the bloodline removed can be pretty fishy, especially if it’s been frozen. Bowfin will ruin the frying pan you use to cook it……..

I know some freshwater fish that are robust in flavor, you wouldn’t like them 😂 as far as bluegill goes, the juice ain’t worth the squeeze for me. Burn more calories than you gain

Absolutely, and you get to sleep on people’s couches and eat beans all winter 😂 I got out of the guide game a while back, thankfully. Now I can buy (some) stuff that I need, like food and a house
