  1. Went canoeing Sunday, paddled several miles pulling a shad rap. Caught catfish of all things 😂 . And of course drum . A pretty redbreast sunfish also hit another crank I dragged
  2. My brother was in from Philly today so we went and caught a few. I used the mooneye as bait for a while but an Osprey wouldn’t leave it alone
  3. I could have used one today, it was extra extra sunny
  4. We love ya Tommy! Praying for yall
  5. And he’s in a sea of poison ivy
  6. When I first got these shoes, I just categorized them as boat shoes. Then I saw a member on here talking about how they used them all around the house and garden. Well they were onto something! These boots are not only good for fishing but also walking thru the wet grass to water the garden early in the morning, walking the dogs, rainy days, etc. When I’m loading/launching canoes and kayaks, it helps to have something sturdier than sandals traversing mud and rock banks. I haven’t gotten there yet, but I’m feeling certain they will also be useful in cold weather fishing, boat or bank. And y’all know me, I like the affordability.
  7. Sometimes 2 miles, sometimes 2 hours, sometimes 2 days
  8. and I got some green beans and okra growing on the wasteland outside my fence on the top of a vertical bank And of course , incorporating fishing into the equation. “(Fishing) pole beans”
  9. I got a 19” smallie midday and we shot a ton of fireworks and ate burgers and hotdogs late in the day. We also sighted in a muzzleloader
  10. Got some SMB and drum on Independence Day. One of them was a 19”, got it trolling a shad rap with the electric motor. Also got some trolling with the gas motor, those were mostly drum
  11. I’ve read peer reviewed scientific studies on telling the difference between coopers and sharp shinned. Conclusion: it’s nearly impossible. Riveting stuff
  12. Kind of…… seen plenty of composite decks in a state of warped disarray. And some moldy goo growing underneath the boards. My mom has one and can’t keep the yellow pollen off it . And she’s a pressure washing fanatic
  13. The TN river is full of fish so never have trouble finding them. Catching them can be tricky tho 😂
  14. Sorry for your heartbreak……… 20 lb braid is fairly thin for my liking on baitcaster, I’ve had it break on sharp ledges somewhat easily. For swim jig I go with 40+
  15. That’s why I was asking about if they ate it all or just took a bite . Squirrels take them off the vine, bite it once or twice, then leave the rest laying there. Rat wastes nothing
  16. Tomato may make good bait in that case. Do the tomatoes completely disappear or just have one bite taken out and discarded ?
  17. I wouldn’t worry much about the human scent, a rat would gladly eat you if you stopped moving. I’ve seen them eat their family member’s carcass off all my snap traps so you say they are eating your tomatoes?
  18. What kind of trap ? Out in the yard, I’m assuming cage trap Snap traps I put a dab of peanut butter and stick either a few kernels of black oil sunflower seed or a piece of dry dog food in the peanut butter. I was mostly trapping them in neighborhoods where they were robbing pet food or bird seed so I gave them what they were after. Setting a snap trap in a backyard can get risky, maybe not 100% legal haha. Could also get gone if a raccoon finds it
  19. Guess I’ve got a different definition of cold haha
