Terminology
Oh my goodness, y’all need to take a trip to the hills to hear some good terminology. One of my favorites is from some of the old hat that uses only baitcasters. They refer to spinning gear as “one of them underslung thangs”

Dreams do come true!
He was saying they pre fish for the shows for several days, researching where the hot bite is. Crazy , that’s good work if you can get it! Almost as lucrative as a fired football coach haha

Got a Buck.
My buddies hunted somewhere in middle Tennessee where you can kill 3 does..... a day! With a rifle! In East TN the limits are much more stringent, I don’t even think you are allowed to kill a doe with a rifle, much less 3! The important detail is that they brought me an entire doe!!!! Hooray !

Keeping track of bass caught
@Bluebasser86and @scaleface would have to get dentures if they did that Sounds like he’s actually counting! My buddies always say they have 100 fish days........ never 99 or 101 or 74 or anything like that. Always a perfectly round 100.......... I think they count 1,2,3,4, 27, 63, etc......

Me too, although when it comes to LM I’ve gotten 3 bass about 8 lbs. One was December 27, one was in summer, and was in spring

Dreams do come true!
Call me when you go! I actually heard zona talk about filming that episode on dale hollow on an interview. That was filmed about one year ago and he said several days of fishing go into a single episode

Using lefty and right baitcasters.
I use both. It’s a long story that I’ve posted many times before but it’s not hard to learn casting with your off hand. You can get used to it, I got one on accident 30 years ago and now I buy R or L

My Most Productive Baits ~ 2020 Edition
I have some of those football swingheads and homemade skirted jigs that @Bluebasser86makes, haven’t tried the jigs yet but the swing heads catch fish very well! His bladed jigs have been a staple of mine for two years now I think, they are the only ones I throw

Targeting Giant Bass
I fish this way a lot, especially in my small boat because the current carries it away very quickly. Our rivers don’t always lend themselves to a long cast, several you can cast all the way across. But it does crack me up seeing all the bass boats. Spot lock on every trolling motor and dual power poles on every boat. Rarely, if ever, do you see one of these boats sitting still, even though they’ve devoted $10k to sitting still

Still a decent bit of snow around so I decided to do some bank fishing. One of my frequent fishing buddies said he was down to go also, yee haw. Stopped below a main river dam hoping for white bass and maybe walleye. After 45 minutes or so and nothing but a drum, I ask josh if he wants to try another dam. He says “that sounds fine, I haven’t fished right here since the last time me and you did about 17 years ago....” 17.............. geez time flies............... but I digress. As we are walking back up the stairs to relocate, a fella hooks up with a decent walleye and we start second guessing our decision. Get to dam #2 and the water is off.......... forgot to check TVA, woops. Second guessing even further we start fishing and I remembered a boat trip long ago when a buddy said there were always Muskie up against the dam when the water was off. We start catching white bass once the jigs get down 20 feet, some nice sized ones too. As I’m reeling one in, all of a sudden it feels really slow. The water is chocked full of zebra mussels so it’s quite clear and what do I see: a big long Muskie holding my white bass like a dog bone. Well this joker just swims around with it like that forever, and ever, and ever. I tried throwing some slack so it might swallow it but nothing. I reeled him up pretty close to the bank several times and it would take off but not super fast. Finally I got him up next to my feet and he spit it out like tobacco juice ! What in the world? So I try to “cast” this dead white bass back into the river and it won’t sink. So I unhook it and we walk back to the trucks slightly defeated and a bald eagle swooped down and took the white bass. I also think the bird laughed at me

I got hired to catch a groundhog that ate through some fiber optic cables years ago. It was a tiny fenced in area in the middle of downtown with a bunch of cable underground. The guy that hired me would point to a cable and say “now that goes to Washington DC” and “that goes to atlanta” and “we can’t have a groundhog eating all this.” Should have charged triple!!!- What is the best temperature for fishing (bass)

@The Bassman, which line do you throw? All the husky jerk I’ve used lately suspend on 6 lb mono . Then again I think I use # 10 model. I can watch the line floating on surface for “strikes on the pause” in dead of winter - I’m feeling vulnerable
