  1. Another nice feature is the inflow rate Want to see areas with a more moderate flow while eliminating the lower flow areas? You can do that! Look familiar @Catt?
  2. Looks nice as always!
  3. Feral hogs are delicious!
  4. Glad to hear you got power back! On the bright side of things your electric and gas bill will be significantly lower next month. glass half full?😁
  5. Can’t believe it took that long for somebody to mention him.
  6. I took this picture last year. I had to have one of my contractors shoo him off so I could move. If I did he’d run right back to the front of the truck. This wasn’t an isolated incident. He has his own Facebook page and has been on one of the news stations in west Michigan.
  7. I read the northern Michigan community is not only rallying around each other but also the lineman who have come from all over the Midwest and working 16 hr days to get things back up and running. Residents are offering toiletries, warm meals, and a simple thank you to the lineman.
  8. I @A-Jay You smell like fish The poor man hasn’t had power for 9 days so naturally he’d smell. 😂
  9. “Amarillo by morning” -George Strait- Good tune!
  10. Hard water for six months and no electricity for a week…I’d say @A-Jay has lost his marbles. 😁
  11. Here in Michigan power companies have frequency and duration metrics they must meet or they face fines of up to $10mil. The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) is the governing body that oversees the utility companies here. I don’t remember exactly when this metric was implemented but, when we have severe weather rolling in I’ll see crews from other states come up just in case. While I think going a week without power is crazy, up where @A-Jay is, they got absolutely destroyed with all the ice and then snow on top of that. When we get freezing rain, it warms up a day or two later and melts. That doesn’t sound like the case up there.
  12. Are you on Great Lakes energy or Consumers?
  13. How many times do I try a pond? 20 years! Most of you southern boys would consider my two favorite lakes (100 acres or less) a pond. My wife caught her PB of 5.5 out of one and mine 5.25 out of another. Her lake I’ve all but given up on because it hasn’t produced in almost 20 years. By produced I mean anything but dinks. My lake has rarely produced in 10 years. I keep going back to mine because it’s a great frog lake although not in the past few years, but I know they’re there and the scenery is like I’m in Canada. Her lake has sentimental reasons for her and the scenery and loons keep us coming back year after year.
  14. We’ve had them the last two years and I did the DIY route after it was too late. Last year they chewed the crap out of our casing to one of our exterior doors! My house is almost three years old so it really ticked me off but we’re next to a river so it’s all sand. Thankfully my wife’s cousin owns a pest control company so he hooked us up with three treatments this year so we’ll see. Stink bugs and Japanese beetles are bad during the spring and fall too.
  15. Dang @A-Jay that’s both good and bad news. I’m not surprised you lost every pine. That sucks because you lose all your privacy. A few years back Consumers Energy had one of their tree contractors come by and trim the trees which made us feel naked! They said give it a year and we wouldn’t notice they were there which they weren’t wrong. Thankfully that was just tree trimming. That sucks you lost almost all your trees, but it could be worse. But thankfully it sounds like USAA is going to take care of you and it sounds like you found a legit tree company, although I’m guessing you could’ve sniffed out a BS company pretty quick. Either way, it could be worse. Stay safe!
  16. @BassSteve no worries, I haven’t fished mine yet since ice out was just a couple weeks ago and we’ve had snow and freezing rain since but initial impression it’s feather light so I can only assume it’s going to be extremely sensitive and a mainstay in my rotation. I’ve done a ton of research on Okuma and everything has been extremely positive from the bass guys who have them.
  17. Water clarity is based off satellite imagery which cloud cover hampers that considerably which is why water clarity features are usually not completely accurate.
  18. Well done and happy birthday!
  19. I’ve been playing around with the Deep Dive app and I’m liking it! It has useful information for beginners up to expert anglers. Find your lake, input time of year, phase the bass are in, depth (shallow or offshore) and various other things and it recommends lures. It also recommends the proper rod, reel, and line for a particular presentation. Another cool feature is a short video of the recommended retrieve for said presentation. Worried about wind direction? It’s got you covered. It overlays wind direction on your lake and you can scroll through up to six days worth of wind so you can see the best days to go or best areas to go. As you’d expect from a fishing app, you can check weather, pressure, precipitation, and moon phases. Again, you can scroll through up to six days worth of information so you can select your most ideal time. Using information from multiple weather sources, USGS, USACE, professional bass anglers, and other sources they’ve really done their homework on this app and are working on some cool new features in the near future. If you haven’t checked it out yet and are looking for a user friendly, well thought out app that isn’t bogged down with questionable ‘fishing reports’ I recommend giving the deep dive app a try.
  20. @A-Jay I see the National Guard has been called up to assist in your area and they also said that 90% of Otsego county is still without power. Some of the videos coming out of that area is pretty wild too! You guys stay safe up there and hopefully you can catch a break sooner than later.
  21. Way better camera and eyes than I have!
  22. I don’t have Facebook but I can guess the responses from the gullible ones, “I just knew as soon as GSM bought them, Yamamoto would go down hill”
  23. Not sure what to call this weather but, round two is coming up Wednesday. Wednesday morning freezing rain then temps are going to climb to a high of 65 by the afternoon and an enhanced risk of severe storms by Wednesday evening. @A-Jay, looks like you could get some too, that’ll be round 3 or 4 for you?
