  1. Well for me I would say probably it would increase my catches. I fish close to 100% in my kayak, and it is a paddle only yak. The biggest thing to me would be spot lock, between the wind in lakes, and the wind and current in rivers it's a royal pia to hold position, paddling with one arm and fishing with the other is quite the chore. The reservoirs I fish are deep and clear, not at all like the "ponds" our esteemed queen of Maine fishes
  2. Ha!!, by no wood I meant no blow downs on the shore. It's a valley and it's round
  3. It's a great part too of mental therapy, almost as important as the physical part.
  4. I used KYDEX Thermoform Sheet, been on mine for 4 years now. There's a bunch of Youtube videos on how to apply it. Bow and stern, I fish some real rocky launches' my kayak is not roto molded, it's thermoformed which is much lighter and thinner.
  5. It's the Indian, not the arrow.
  6. I went today to a reservoir, should have went to the river. Water down a couple of feet , we've had no rain in quite a while. Reservoir is round and 180' at it's deepest, no wood and today had 14' visibility. Couldn't find em today, eluded the skunk with a 12" largemouth, well it's mouth wasn't that large.
  7. I pick up what I can, especially fishing line. One thing I never touch is the single sock.
  8. Friend of mine had both done, he's doing great now after living in pain for a couple of years. PT is the most important part, do it religiously. Best of luck to you!
  9. Tree goes up day after Thanksgiving, multiple boxes of decorations are brought in from above the garage and basement, probably over a dozen big boxes of stuff. Wife loves decorating the house, I put one ornament on the tree. Everything gets put away about a week after New Years day.
  10. Praying for a quick resolution for her, bone on bone ain't no fun.
  11. Everything is relevant to everyone's situation, mine is my Eddyline 14' Caribbean. I had a Wilderness Tarpon 120, which served me well for around 12 years, but weighed 70 lbs. So getting older and loading a kayak on my roof was getting harder as the years went by. I knew someone who was involved in the planning of the Caribbean, as this was Eddylines foray into sit on top kayaks. I had the good fortune to be one of the first ones to test paddle this on the East Coast, it has been my main kayak now for 10 years. Forgot to say the the Caribbean weighs in at 50 lbs Oh, also a carbon fiber paddle is worth its weight in gold. Couple of St Croix rods pretty much for me is my high end stuff. I'm low a maintenance guy, also frugal though my wife use a different group of adjectives
  12. That lake does have some big pickerel in it. Crazy thing is those are the first pickerel I've ever caught using a Ned rig.
  13. Hit up a small lake in north jersey, usually a numbers lake with not many real good ones. Second cast got a 14" largemouth on a paddle tail and thought here we go,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Well, it didn't work out that way. Spent too much time throwing the paddle tail with only a crappie to show for it. Tied on a ned and lost one on the first cast with it, then was able to scratch out some more tossing it shallow. Wound up with 11 largemouths, one crappie, one sunfish and 2 pickeral. Lost 5 largemouths on the jump, of course they were the biggest largemouths. Tons of small sunfish around, they were even hitting the line where it entered the water. Only got one picture of the better pickeral.

Boomerang clipped on my life vest. Pair of Bubba's in my tackle box I bring on my camping trips for retying back at camp. I'll see if my Walmart has those kid scissors on my next trip there, they have the best price on the 1lb 4 packs of propane as I have to restock on those.
  15. Told my wife I'm only having one,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  16. I just give them a stern talking to
  17. At Costco this morning and they had Christmas tree's out and other decoration. I'm old, I remember when that didn't start coming out until after Thanksgiving. I even remember the first Christmas commercial that was on TV was for Norelco razors with Santa coming down the hill on his rotary sled Can't remember what I went into the kitchen for though.............
  18. Eagles grabbing a fish out of the water a couple of times, Ospreys, Kingfishers, hawks, falcons, herons, egrets, Rails, Woodcock, Loons, various birds that I couldn't recognize. Otters, Beavers, Muskrat, Foxes, Black Bear, deer (wild, not the pets we have around my neighborhood) . Seen Muskys swim by my kayak giving me the hairy eyeball. Pods of Dolphins in ocean inlets, you don't realize just how big these are until their right next to you. Every time I'm out there's always something to witness besides the fish.
  19. My feet hit the floor this morning, so far it's been a pretty good year for me. I've had over 35 nights camping and fishing, plus all the day trips. I have a beautiful 2 1/2 yr old grandaughter, wife and 3 kids are healthy. I have my health, no prescription drugs, I do work out and somewhat watch what I eat. I do enjoy beer, don't associate with negative people, watch no news on TV. So to have over 72 trips around the sun, I feel pretty blessed. Now, if I lived on a pond with big bass in Maine, it would be perfect
  20. Did a 6 day solo camping/fishing trip on the Delaware River in New Jersey. Set up base camp and by the time I was done had about a hr to fish from shore, wound up with 3 Smallmouths and 1 chub, one smallie was a good river fish. Next day launched about 4 miles north of the campsite, and it was tough, took must of the day to find what they wanted , it was a ned rig bounced on the bottom in 10 feet of water. Wound up with 8 smallmouth. Following day fished the campsite launch, same thing with the ned rig, wound up with 18 smallmouth and one walleye, biggest smallmouth was 17 inches. Pretty much had to be on the outside edge of the eel grass in 6-8’. Changed it up and took a break from fishing the river current and drove a ½ hr to a reservoir I’ve never done well at, and got one largemouth and a 18 inch rainbow. Day after that went back to the northern launch, it started out real slow and talked to a couple of guys on boats and they weren’t doing anything. I had one, moved around and hit another spot and got a tank river smallmouth at 17”,after that got another 13 there until a boat came by at wot and that was it. Last day launched at the campsite launch and it was a grind, had wind against the current so it was hard to keep in position. I kept at it and managed to get 15 smallmouth and one walleye. River clarity was 8’, saw Eagles, Kingfishers, otter and a Blue Tailed Skink. Weather was perfect for camping and kayaking, though I was beat when I got home.
  21. Jim Lahey "I'm mowing the air Randy" Red Green was great too.
