  1. Adirondack camping trip last week, buddy and I were able to fish 4 out of 5 days with only one rain day (also a day of rest). Different lake or launch spot each day, in our kayaks. We tried to avoid the bedding fish, which were on the beds in some area's and off them in others. We had some epic days where between us we got over 100 fish, mostly smallies with a couple of largemouths, perch and rock bass mixed in, we got no pike on this trip. What worked were small baits ( 2"to 3") on ultra-light tackle.

  5. We've had a lot of rain, here's it's coming off the Kittatinny Ridge
  6. Last week trip on the Delaware River most of the fish had red eyes, heard some say that is cause they are in the spawn, I have no idea if that is true.
  7. 6 hrs in the kayak, usually after about 3-4 hrs I hopefully can find a spot to get out and stretch my legs. On camping trips it's 4-5 straight days doing this if the weather co-operates, I do one of these every month from April to October, between the trips at least once a week or more with a 1 hr trip to my favorite waters. 72 years on Earth, I feel blessed to still be able to do this.

  9. My goal is to wake up tomorrow and my feet hit the floor
  10. I like to think so, wife thinks I look like a bum After going to kayaking "tournaments", not really tournaments in the strictest sense they were more like get-together for over 15 years with 4 a year each one always gave you a t-shirt or sun shirt. I have more fishing related shirts then I can count. Being retired my clothing ensemble pretty much consists of 2 seasons; sweat pants and sweatshirt or shorts and a t-shirt, life is good!

56? Now we know where Joe DiMaggio went
  12. Ha!! He beat me to it, I saw the article and immediately thought of someone on here. I haven't read it yet, but my hope is that it goes into great detail into using a drop shot for them. In the meantime feast yer eye's on the magnificence of this worthy quarry caught just last week on a week long camping trip
  13. Everything was has been pretty much covered here, my only tip is do not eat White Castle Jalapeno burgers the night before, you won't know which end they might explode out of
  14. I'm up there in age too, in reality I have more lures then I could ever use in my fishing lifetime. Replacement hooks and plastics beside, it's hard to resist the allure of a new "hot" lure
  15. I've tried it a few times, then I realized my bed is nowhere near the water Granted that beer might have been involved, but I've caught some real lunkers in my dreams, does that count
  16. I guess I"m a member of this exclusive club, I have magnifying glasses strewn around the house, in my car and in a tackle box
  17. I took a course back in the 80's which I don't remember if it was required or got a break on insurance for it. I think it was administered by the USCGA, I still have Chapman Piloting Seamanship & Boat Handling book. Good info, unfortunately even back then most of the boaters on the water still had no clue what they were doing. Granted this was in saltwater here in the metro area, one of the most populous area's in the US
  18. Hmmm, mine is working fine, not freezing or cuttin' out
  19. 2.8" Fat Swing Impact on a 1/8 ball jig. Ned rigs, one of my favorites were the 3" reaper but alas they are no longer available Max scent flat worm on a drop shot. 5" dinger #3 Mepps
  20. It's a tragedy that will affect all those involved for a lifetime, unreal how life can change in a split second.
