  1. Tall enough that my feet still reach the ground! German and English from what I've been told. Must explain my love of beer
  2. Spring Peepers, call of Kingfishers and the gawk of a Great Blue Heron that awaken me from a trance on the water.
  3. bladed jig, gonna try and catch some fish on it this year, so far only have caught one tiny bass on it.
  4. I agree 100%, that is one of the beers I always looked forward to when fall weather started. Sitting around the fire pit with one on the first cool night was just perfect.
  5. I don't believe in superstitions but the hat has been proven many time in studies to be a proven fish catching key. When one is lost or has to be replaced it is a time consuming process for the permanent replacement to be made for consistent results. Oh, and when I need to outfish my buddies on a trip the Aftco Blue sun shirt needs to be utilized
  6. This is the last one I have, an old time favorite that was resurrected this year in an special pack that was pretty much only in Costco. I really enjoyed it on a cool and cloudy day here in the northeast.
  7. I'm usually out on my kayak for at least 6 hrs, so that's a decent amount of paddling. I bring 2 tuna sandwiches and 2 packs of BelVita blueberry snacks. Plus a couple of bottles of water, plus 2 frozen bottles in my RTIC soft cooler. I also have a good breakfast before I head out. The cooler doesn't take up much space as you can see in the picture. Many times I too eat on the way home.
  8. I only have spinning for freshwater, I've been a finesse guy all my life. Saltwater I have a couple of conventional that get a lot of use and heavier spinning gear, different ballgame in the salt.
  9. Just one now, a NY non-resident, don't need one here in NJ anymore once you're past 70.
  10. Unfortunately posted with no trespassing signs will be needed. Growing up in and living in New Jersey my whole life I've seen so much access lost. Between over development and slobs who leave all sorts of trash it's shameful, though apparently these slobs have no shame. I recently lost a kayak launch due because of so called "fisherman" that just trashed the place. We also have what we call the bucket brigade, no fish is too small to put in the bucket.
  11. One of my favorite places to be, Adirondacks. A buddy and I go up there in June, so much water and so little time, we camp and hit a different lake every day. It's rare we see anyone else fishing.
  12. Gadabout Gaddis for me too, American Sportsman with Curt Gowdy had some fishing on it too. Not fishing, but Modern Farmer was a favorite, as a kid growing up in the New Jersey suburbs that there were vast expanses of open land with nothing to see but the horizon.
  13. I saw the talking frogs once too, it was right after a Grateful Dead concert,,,,I don't remember a TV being on though
  14. Saw the heading and thought that Ru Paul was joining one of the pro bass circuits
  15. This afternoon the girls made Irish Soda Bread, I kept busy with drinking some beer
  16. Put em on a A-Rig
  17. I really have to say 3 fish always stand out to me. Of course the first bass, which was from a river we stayed at all summer back in the 50’s. I was around 5 years old I guess, it might have been on a red and white Daredevil. Second was when my parents took me to a cabin on an un-named lake up in Maine. I was around 15 years old and the cabin had a tin boat with a kicker on it. We got nightcrawlers and headed out, it was here that I hooked my first Smallmouth bass, 5 lbs on the Deliarer . I could not believe the power and strength of this fish, hooked for life on these. Third was on my 14’ Mirrocraft with a 9.9 Johnson up on Greenwood lake, was with my father and hooked maybe my biggest Largemouth on a perch shad rap. I was in my early 20’s then. Back then never had a camera on the boat or ruler, just knew it was big.
  18. When you do that, make sure you leave a copy of Rock Bass Secrets
  19. I guess that they figure 90 is the new 70
  20. Mr Twister was the new thing when I was much younger.
  21. Wow, just wow! The only time I even saw DD's was years ago at the Bada Bing
  22. This too will past I'm just jonesing to get out and paddle, it's been a long winter.
  23. Here in North Jersey we've had the coldest winter in years. It's finally warming up a bit, but the wind has been relentless. Being in a kayak it's not looking too good yet, when looking at the wind forecast I add at least 5mph to it. Here's the next 10 day forecast;
  24. In NJ it's 70, this will be my 3rd year of not paying for a license here. We don't get a license here either, just need proof of birthday. Still have to pay 50$ for an out of state license for NY.
