I've not been a fan of using snaps because of the additional profile they add to a lure and they seem to pick up more debris;  not sure if they inhibit lure action.  Declining eyesight and fumbling fingers are making it harder to tie good knots so I'm asking y'alls opinions.  Thankyou.

I have been using vmc crankbait snaps in all size for a few years without issues for full size bass stuff.  I have been using   Decoy SN-17 Round Snap PG  for BFS setup.  The decoy snaps are tiny.  

I also use VMC. I only use snaps for my crankbaits/squarebills/lipless. It's just so convenient and I feel it allows more range of motion for the baits.

 

I mainly use size 0 and 1.

 

The 00 size is a pain to use.

I have a more than a few brands.  Ryugi r-snap size 0 is on my bfs rigs currently and I like them.  Super strong but a little difficult to manipulate, mostly because of the size.  But for the combo of price, strength, and ease of use I think I will go back to nishine size 0 and 2.

Super strong. The one pictured is 41lbs! Also very compact.

 

I once you figure out how to open them, they are extremely easy.

@Tackleholic  VMC  Duo lock size 3.  Tried Norman Speed Clips and Decoy but fingers couldn't make them work.

I’ve been looking for reliable snaps for BFS crankbait fishing that aren’t completely impossible to use. Everything I’ve tried takes 3 times longer than just re-tying! 

Mustad Fastach size 0,1 and 2.

I've used Duolock, Crosslock, TA clips and and some I don't remember.

I've settled for now with the Fastach for freshwater and the TA for the salt.

Being on a kayak most of my rods are set up for multiple techniques so it's easier for me to change baits.

Maybe one of the suggestions in this post will work for you;  if so, please let me know.

I use decoy round, size 1.5. I think the those are rated around 20 lb. test, similar to my line. They have smaller sizes, lower test, maybe work for BFS. The only time they've failed is due operator error when using a jig or tube. Crossing their eyes is too much force on a 20 lb. test snap (think I had straight braid on when that happened). YMMV

 

I think snaps in general pick up a little more debris than a knot. I haven't found they inhibit action but I also haven't done any personal experimentation. 

I use size 1 and 2 from different manufacturers.  I've never had one break while bringing in a fish, but the lighter ones can get damaged when you're working free of a snag.

Duolock has been my standard but recently purchased some Tactical Angler micro snaps.  I'm interested in trying the Spro snaps that look similar to the TA ones.  

I've tried at least 3 different ones.  I found that tying SDJ and palomar easier than any of them.

I use Owner Hyper Weld size 2, light weight with round bend and strong.

Snaps on crank baits, structure spoons some top water lures.

I like making coffee in a French press. It kind of a fussy process and a pain and takes way longer than my Bunn drip maker that produces a full pot of coffee in less than three minutes. But the French press makes a much better cup. Both work. Duo- locs are much faster and work the same as speed clips, but the baits taste the same, so …
