  1. Just finished up shoveling out, 18" here in North Jersey. I said after the last storm it's time to get a snow blower, getting too old for this. The plan was to wait till summer as I figured we were pretty much done with snow. Ha! now we get the biggest storm in a dozen years.
  2. We have a Dachshund, so he couldn't even get out the door 😀
  3. Had to shovel another dog path this morning, quick measure was 14" but I think we have more than that and still snowing.Supposed to stop around 2pm. Windy and temp at 28 degrees.
  4. I just got back in from shoveling a dog path and the front walk way. Plows have come by and of course the apron is loaded, did one path through it and that was enough for me. Right now we have 6" and still coming down, there saying blizzard to noon tomorrow, oh joy!
  5. Went to an outdoor show yesterday before the snow coming in. Only brought some hair jigs, I've told myself to concentrate on fishing them this year as I have the rod and reel setup for them. Picture taken on the cover of a 1955 Life magazine, with the beautiful Sophia Loren on the cover
  6. Just starting to stick to the ground here, coming down harder now. Not looking forward to shoveling us out, don't think I'll be able to get out and do some pre-shoveling as it's forecasted to be the hardest overnight. Only good thing is being retired and not have to worry about going into work.

There were a lot of great plays by the goalies in this game. Faber hitting both posts on that shot was unreal.

Gets tooth knocked out, scores the winning goal in OT, what a game!
  9. 98% kayak, if camping on the Delaware River a little bit of shore fishing down from the campsite.
  10. Shoot for the stars; retire and win the lottery
  11. I haven't scuffed my plastics, but have sternly scolded them on occasion
  12. Kids I can see, adults and parents letting their kids do it around someone fishing is just a lack of common courtesy. I do think it's a great thing to show kids how to skip stones, of course not near anyone fishing. Teach them to look for the perfect flat round stones is a great memory for all. Hearing them hoot and holler when they get a 6 skipper is a special moment, at least for me as it brings me back in time to when I was a kid.
  13. Finally some of this is now melting here, I was able to pick up some of the dog diamonds that have been frozen solid in the ice My leaders are now unfrozen too so the water is flowing out of the gutters, probably to cause a sheet of ice tomorrow morning.
  14. Bob, don't know you personally, but you aren't the only one with tears in their eyes reading this. There's nothing I can add to what has been said, just very sorry for your lost.
  15. Great post Joe! A positive attitude goes over to life in general, we all go through tough times . Tragedy, heartbreak, loss of loved ones, loss of job, loss of ability to do things we once did, it's all things we go through as we travel this life. Another thing is to try and surround ourselves with people who are positive in their outlook. Some days and weeks it's hard, it's what makes us human. Being in my 73 rd year here, I'm blessed to be able to kayak, fish and camp and I do appreciate everyday. Fishing has been an important part of my life, I've caught and enjoy every fish, from Bluefin Tuna to "gasp" Rock Bass. Carry on my friends
  16. Hmmmm,,,Depends,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  17. Congratulations to all ya Seahawks fans! I would have won 500 $ if the Patriots just kicked the extra point, just like I would have the biggest bass record in NJ if I didn't break off that one I "had" on last year
  18. Got no horse in this race, but a bunch of boxes I hope to hit on one of them at least. Also hope for a good game, may your team win !
  19. A shovel would be nice too
  20. I think the issue is going on Reddit.
  21. It's been the coldest winter in years here. You know it's cold when all the ice boats are out on the tidal rivers. I was actually thinking how great it would be to cut the lawn But yes, the days are getting longer
