Flipping Stuff
Since everyone is arguing over pitching vs flipping, I will be pitching to heavy cover with big rod and line, this is what I refer to as "Flipping". Correct term or not, I am in the business of bass fishing not the business of policing grammar. I will primarily be fishing heavy grass, then wood, then docks, then rock (oil order from most to least time spent). Have decided on 65 lb braid. My lures of choice will be: 1/2 oz plus flipping jig 1/2 oz plus texas/flipping rig

Flipping Stuff
Just purchased a Dobyns Champion XP 766Flip and an 8.1:1 Tatula Elite. Not sure if the reel will go on this rod or not, but for simplicity let's say it will. This is a dedicated heavy cover "flipping rod". I have never tried this technique before, but am determined to learn. I live in PA, biggest bass I'll have a crack at is ~ 8.5 lbs (would love to prove myself wrong here). I have picked up a ton of 1/2 oz tungsten flipping weights. I forget if I have any 3/4 oz ons but will order if I don't. I want to know if 20lb floro or 65 lb braid is best. I want to know where to flip. What lures to flip with, any thing I need to buy/have.

My Jig Rods - Need Advice
Caught my first bass of 2020 this year the other day on a flipping jig, the bait I am determined to learn to fish this year. As I begin this process, please tell me what bottom lures you'd Throw on these rods. 1. 7'0" MH XF St. Croix Avid X, 8.2:1 Shimano Curado 70, 15 lb Seaguar Invisx Wobble Heads (3/8-1/2), Texas Rigs (3/8-1/12), Jigs (3/8-1/2) 2. 7'1" MH XF 13 Fishing Muse Black, no reel at the moment will serve as a spare rod for combo #1 3. 7'2" MH MF Falcon Lowrider, 7.2:1 Shimano Casitas, 12 lb Seaguar Invisx (uppgrading to 17lb soon) Primarily a Swim Jig (1/4-3/4) rod 4. 7'3" H MF Falcon Jason Christie, 7.3:1 Quantum Smoke PT, 30 lb Power Pro Pitching Jigs (1/4-1/2) into cover, Buzzbaits (3/8-1/2), 4.8" Weighted Keitechs (1/8-3/16) 5. 7'6" H Dobyns Champion XP, 8.1:1 Daiwa Tatula Elite, 65 lb braid or 20 lb floro (not sure yet) Flipping Rod (duhhh). Just ordered, never even tried real flipping. I am really trying to build my confidence with lure on the bottom besides drop shot. I find that most of my lakes are covered in slimy milfoil and suck that sticks to any lure on the bottom. I have outlined my plan of what lures go on what rods. If you have any advice, please share. I am open to moving all the reels except the Quantum around!

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Dobyns Champion XP 766Flip, Dobyns Sierra 702SF, & Daiwa Tatula Elite 100XSL all on the way! I am excited to finally try a Dobyns rod out. In other news, I picked up a mislabeled Falcon Jason Christie 7'3" H Pitchin' Jig rod at Walmart for 29$. Was a bit tip heavy with the reel I have on it, so I made a DIY butt balancer.

Loose Teeth In Table Saw Blade
ive since swapped the blade out. luckily Home Depot is an essential business and remains open. I have had issues with the angle being projected when I am cutting a 1.5" section off as my support pieces that attach to the hull, which then attach to longer pieces. I just can't find a way to clamp it down and they go flying.

Are any lakes closing in your area?
My two favorite spring/summer hobbies are golf and fishing. Both are closed completely in my area. I am stuck with private ponds and water, but its still snowing here and school has just started online.

PAIN 2
Taking medical advice on a fishing forum will only get you so far... Best advice, call a doctor. with that being said, your description sounds like a sciatic nerve issue. This is caused by the piroformus muscle being tighter than usual which causes street on the sciatic nerve as it extends through your obturator foramen, aka the hip hole. The cure to this is typically stretching the muscle out with targeted stretches. Lie down on your back on the floor, bend the unaffected knee straight up, then rest the ankle of the affected leg on the unaffected knee, and slowly press your affected knee away from your torso. https://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/piriformis-exercises800.jpg this is a wild guess as to the issue, but ut shouldn't hurt to try. If it helps it should relieve the issues within a day or so. source: Doctorate of Physical Therapy Student

Loose Teeth In Table Saw Blade
Building my Semi/Deep V out of 1/8" 6061 Aluminum Angle. Purchased a 10" Diablo Saw Blade (https://www.amazon.com/Freud-D1084L-10-Inch-Diameter-8-Inch/dp/B001TH8HK8). Cut the aluminum really well for about 20 cuts. Then, I noticed that like 4 cuts in a row were jacked up. Upon closer inspection, I noticed several missing teeth, about 10 of them. I don't want to risk injury at all. I was planning on bringing it back to Home Depot and getting a new blade. With the recent mandated closure of Home Depot, I don't think ill be able to. Looks like i'll have to order one online. Is it safe to keep using the blade with missing teeth? What could have caused this?

Eastern PA Fishing Reports
no luck, water temps were 42* I expect them to be around 45-48 currently but cannot tell for sure. I had to walk in because our batteries stopped working and went numb after 10 seconds. Turns out I was low on water. I ended up putting 1 gal of distilled water into two batteries. yikes.

Eastern PA Fishing Reports
was this at a big lake or a pond? only reason I ask is because water temps at marsh creek were a bit cold for a chatterbait bite imo, granted I didn't try for it

Garmin EchoMap Plus Networking
I want to link my two Garmin units together. Both are EchoMap Plus 9", one is a 93sv other is a 94sv. I want to run one transducer only if possible. Do I only need a network cable? https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/garmin-marine-network-cable?rrec=true or do I need a hub or something?

V Hull Battery Wiring
working on my new boat. 14' Smokercraft. I am considering upgrading to an 80lb trolling motor. I also run two 9" Garmin Echomaps, two livewell pumps (only one at a time), and maybe a bile pump. Current setup allows for two group 29 batteries, one for my current trolling motor, and one for my electronic stuff. If I get a new 24v system, and run two group 29 batteries, can I run everything off the two batteries? I fish electric only lakes mostly. I was thinking of putting another group 27 battery in the back for the electronics and the transom motor when running from spot to spot. what should I do? Edit: new plan is run two group 29 batteries for new trolling motor up front, buy a group 24 and run it for electronics
