  1. Added “cook’s go-to tackle system” under the custom compartment. I’m excited I have a place to store my frequents without having them floating around the deck.
  2. What are your opinions about sensitivity of fluoro vs mono? I have limited experience, but in the few times I have compared the two, I certainly noticed a difference using the same rod between equal pound test ratings (I did not pay attention to diameter), where I could feel much more of the bottom with FC compared to mono.
  3. Sounds like a jon boat would better fit your needs.
  4. No. You need a properly formatted SD card. Or if your unit is new enough you can do it via Bluetooth and your phone.
  5. Growing up my dad always told me that one of the best times to fish was immediately following the first frost. This held pretty true in all of the ponds I grew up fishing. I haven’t come across this idea in other places. Anyone else use that as sign to hit the water?
  6. Nice gusty day on Tuesday. I caught one right of the bat on a spinnerbait and thought it was gonna be game on! Negative. Had to work really hard to catch two more that wouldn’t have gone 12.
  7. 1. Make sure there is no debris in the tail. 2. Add a swivel. 3. Keep your rod tip down in or near the water. 4. For the Toadrunner, make sure both of the ‘legs’ are lateral to the hooks. You may not need to do all of these things but one or a combination of some of them should fix your problem. If not you probably somehow have dysfunctional lures, which is doubtful.
  8. Some good deals on Norman crankbaits too.
  9. Now my real reason for going to medical school has been revealed!
  10. Anyone had a chance to try this line yet?
  11. That speaker is notorious for failing, BUT also amendable to an easy fix by RE-soldering it. There are a few videos and description of fixing them around the web. hope yours is easy to fix.
  12. Some snow in the forecast for Friday :(( Not ready for it.
  13. All of my residency applications went to Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat/Head and Neck Surgery).
  14. You can leave it all to me! Have had some of my absolute best days when the wind was whipping at 20+ all day!
  15. Dirtyeggroll replied to WRB-2.0's topic in Fishing Tackle
I was just about to reference some of the data published about this... https://academic.oup.com/cz/article/65/1/43/4924236/
  16. Dedicated wire to the battery with a fuse AND switch.
  17. Definitely not a bullhead and definitely not over 4 1/2 lbs. You can tell by the way it is. Sorry but no years of regret for you haha
  18. 6 hours of boat ride in an 8 hour tournament. They’d have to be a pro to have that kind of confidence for 2 hours of fishing. And probably because they won’t run the boat more than a couple seasons which is about how long the “weak” parts (carpet, finish, etc) seems to be reported to last on a Nitro. They do have some wide decks though!
  19. Just try them. I spent the first 15 years of my fishing life using exclusively $1 spinnerbaits and Omniflex. If you lose them at a rate faster than they are destroyed, you are ahead.
  20. Wife is out of town and I’ll be free from the chains of studying and clinical responsibility for two whole days!
  21. Yep, was a "Bass Pass" required tournament
  22. Tournament out there on Saturday was won with barely over 10 lbs with 5 fish. Only 3 teams brought in 5 fish. Not sure what the big one was. Nice Work!
  23. Make sure you have your mechanic also run dedicated power wire to the bow, if you don't already have it up there.
