  1. If it is oil based paint and just drops you might let it dry good and try wire brush. If it is a large place, call local paint store and ask them. Sorry no more help than that :-[ but I do know it is a REAL pain in the arse to clean... As Ever, skillet

  8. Don't see why it wouldn't work. I think it was Reel Mech that said putting the hook thru an eye can put nicks in the eye which in turn could hurt your line ... As Ever, skillet

  16. Congrats on your fish. Some of the folks that have already responded (including me) have been fishing longer than some of the other members have been wearing long pants (we won't mention any ages here ;D) and still have worse days than you had. Better days are coming with the next cast. Hopefully you are talking about catfish in your PS. No personal experience with what you are talking about but have heard that type of bait works good for cats. When I was a little boy my Daddy had me climbing every Catalpa tree in the neighborhood for worms. We used them for bream fishing... As Ever, skillet
  17. Type of water, what area (N, S, E, W) will you be fishing and maybe will you be using spinning gear or bait casting would be nice to know, to help you . Not meaning to be short with you but at the top of this page there are different places to visit at this site. The one entitled "fishing articles" has an untold wealth of info to read and get started. Try reading some of them and keep a list of things that you want to ask about. The more specific you are the easier it is to know how to answer you. Most everyone on here is more than willing to help someone get started (actually dieing to unload on anyone who asks ;D)... As Ever, skillet BTW if I haven't said this to you WELCOME to the forums...

Thanks a lot guys , great replies... As Ever, skillet
  19. I have wondered about that question myself, more than once. I use soft plastics more than hard baits but of the hard baits I do have and use, Rapala makes up the lion's share... As ever, skillet

This will really be 2 questions. You folks that use a buzz bait a lot (I probably don't use them enough), how do you feel about the models with clakers? Do you think they make a real difference overall or just in certain situations? Reading posts on here folks seem to like Cavitron buzz baits (no clakers) because you can retrieve them slower and still stay on top. Where do you buy them? On line? Can't seem to find them here in my neck of the woods... As Ever, skillet
  21. I never used spinning gear for anything but pan fish. After hearing on here about how good they are in a given situation I bought a Symetre and picked up a decent 6'MH rod and now I carry it every time I go fishing. I really like the Symetre ... As Ever, skillet

  23. Most of these folks you expect really good quotes from and they always deliver. The one I never expected was Eleanor Roosevelt. To be in the position she was the lady had an unbelievable sense of humor and used it. I read once from a photographer of her time that she was truely one of those people that was unphotogenic but in person was really beautiful... As Ever, skillet

I fish a lot more soft plastics than hard baits, and you know how many knock-offs there are of popular soft baits. Those guys did a heck of a close knock-off! IMHO I don't know if a bass could tell the difference. I guess you've fished both or soon will, let us know if there is much fish catching difference between them. Both great looking baits... 25. Jeff H, Don't know how you feel about BPS's Bionic Blade (I like them for the price), if you catch them when they have a large selection (spring time) you ought to be able to get what you were asking about... As Ever, skillet
