  1. So my ProV Bass came wired by my dealer. It has a Group 24 cranking/house battery in the rear, and three Group 31 trolling motor batteries up front. The rear has a bus bar, which has the charger lead, two humminbird graphs, ethernet box, and console panel electronics. The Group 24 battery has leads from the bus bar, Mercury outboard, ignition switch, and hydraulic steering. I'm upgrading the the Group 24 to a LiFePO4 dual purpose battery, and the screw in M8 post is pretty short, and I can't duplicate the connections above. I'm going to move the steering and ignition switch leads to the bus bar. I don't think it should be an issue, but just wanted opinions. TIA
  2. Probably a 36v trolling motor set up. All the cheapo Amazon lithiums aren’t made for cranking. There are only a few US assembled dual purpose lithiums available, and they are not cheap.
  3. To me, batteries are fungible. I've never had a battery go bad in the warranty period for my lead acid and AGM's. They always seem to go bad just outside the warranty period. So, I'd rather look for the specs I want and buy cheap, but reliable batteries and if one goes bad, I don't have to worry about any warranty's and getting authorizations, etc. I just go buy another. That'll be my approach to LiFePO4 batteries as well. You can pay 3x the price from "US" branded lithiums, but what are you getting? A 10 year warranty, maybe some better customer service? But if your battery goes bad, you're gonna have to send it back after getting authorization, then wait for one to get to you. That may be a week, or more. I'll just buy a cheapo Amazon battery and it'll be at my house in 2 days. 3 of these will be cheaper than what you listed. https://a.co/d/5TkwR9E
  4. I run 2 Helix 10 G3N's, ethernet, auto-bilge, auto-livewell and a BT radio and speakers off my Group 24M cranking battery, 56AH 1000MCA. I've fished with all my electronics on for long long hours (8hrs+). The Helix 10's don't draw much (I think I calculated 1.7ah at one point), and I put the brightness around 60%. I just tested the battery and it's at 97% health in year 3. That being said, I'm putting in a 105AH dual purpose LiFePO4 to replace it next week. I'm finally making the change to lithium batteries because my 3 year old onboard charger has a bad bank and I'm replacing it with a NoCo GenPro.
  5. So my DualPro Sportsman4 has 1 bad bank, and is out of warranty. I switched leads with another battery and tested it that way. I would have to ship it to DualPro, and a repair would be about $70. I had planned to upgrade the profile to charge LiFePO4 batteries too, that's another $180. I'd have to pay for shipping, so maybe $20-40 each way. So I'm looking at $330 out of pocket to refurb it. But when I was troubleshooting the charger, I wanted to make sure the battery wasn't dead, so I hooked up a NoCo Genius 1x to each battery. Even though the DualPro lit up the 6th LED on the good banks, the NoCo had them at 75% and they kept charging until 100%. So, either the DualPro's charging profile sucks, or NoCo is overcharging. I'm thinking the former. So my options: 1) Send the DualPro to get refurbed and update the profile to charge LiFePO4's for $330 and no warranty. 2) Just rip out the DualPro and get a new NoCo GenPro 10x4 for $460 (after tax) with a 3 year warranty.
  6. Good luck with the sale. You'll have to weed through all the scammers on FB and Craigslist, but you'll quickly find out who the serious buyers are based on the questions they ask you. And a really serious buyer will ask you to water test, and may have the cash in hand if all goes well.
  7. Agreed, your Optimax will be somewhat of a deterrent for a buyer who knows what he/she is looking for. But, you'll get prospective first time boat owners and the best thing you can do is to run a water test with them, or at least on muffs in your driveway.
  8. I just helped a friend buy an used bass tracker off of FB marketplace. I used NADA as a tool to negotiate prices. But things I looked for in a used boat were: Garage kept, condition of the trailer, make/model of the engine, condition of the deck/carpet, and trolling motor. https://www.jdpower.com/boats?aid=167268&nozip=1&nopop=1 Just based on your description, I'd start around $10K if it's in really good condition and you have maintenance records and a decent TM.
  9. I called them with my serial number, mine doesn't have the Li profile and they wouldn't tell me definitely if it would charge a Li battery or not. So basically, I have no idea if the Dual Pro will charge a Li battery partially, fully, or not at all. When my three 100AH AGM's lose capacity, I'll swap them to Li and the onboard charger to a fully Li compatible system. I just need a dual purpose starter right now.
  10. My lead acid starting battery just pooped out. I'm going to try out this dual purpose LiFePO4 105AH 800CCA battery from Florida Lithium. The specs look good, they say it complies with Mercury outboards (which is what I have), Group 24, and has bluetooth. My only concern is I have a DualPro Sportsman 4 bank charger that has the lead acid/AGM profile. I've read it may only charge Lithium batteries to 80%, which would be fine for my purposes. But the hatch is accessible where I could charge the battery with a standalone NoCo lithium charger. https://floridalithium.com/products/12v-105ah-dual-purpose-lifep04-battery
  11. Major Craft BENKEI BIC-652UL/BF https://www.ebay.com/itm/134970854996?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=hzJajaeTToW&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=HbUnHEMjSEa&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY I have the one piece and it has pretty good backbone to it.
  12. Ha, I've been doing the same thing for the last 20 years, but I take off for the Friday of the first round. It never ceases to amaze me how the NCAA always has some amazing upsets. I can watch NCAA men's all day, but 5 mins of NBA and I'm flipping to another station.
  13. It is, I have a buddy who's a Coors Beer rep, he's been talking about Coors getting into the distilled spirits market. My guess is they'll probably acquire some more independent distillers in the future too. Nice bottle for near retail. I've stopped searching for Stagg (Jr's) since batch 18, I don't feel like the distillate/age in the bottle is worth the effort anymore, but for retail, I'll always get it if I come across it. I'm sipping 23C right now, and it's just a hot mess IMO.
  14. I’m not sure if the Edge has a reed switch under the momentary button, but that’s what it sounds like to me based on your description. Common issue among Ultrex’s, and the solution is to take off the button and align the reed switch magnet.
  15. So it works on manual and when you hit the momentary button on the top of the foot pedal right? But it doesn't work on continuous mode?
  16. Northern snakehead. They explode on topwater, and they're tougher to catch than bass. I like fishing heavy pads or grass away from other boats, and they're prolific in that environment. They're also really tasty so I harvest most of them that I catch.
  17. I had a bluetop dual purpose in my old 14' Bomber and it worked well for cranking and my graphs. Optima's are quality batteries, so they're pricey. That being said, the price of LiFePO4 batteries have almost come down to the price of high quality AGMs. Ionic has a 1100CCA 40AH group 25 starter battery for $500. https://lithiumhub.com/product/lithium-12v-1400ca-lifepo4-marine-starter-battery/
  18. I have the 6'5 as well, great rod and I find that it loves lures in the 1/16oz-1/4oz range. I never got it to throw a 1/32oz trout magnet with any real useable distance, but 1/20oz is doable. As for the reel seat, the only problem I had was the locking nut is two pieces: 1) the actual plastic locking nut, and 2) the metal cover on the locking nut. I had the metal cover come off the locking nut, but I just did some light sanding on the locking nut, put some super glue on and put the metal cover back on it and have had no problems since.
  19. I have the 7' Aird X H, and it was my primary rod for a toad and EWG in heavy cover. I was throwing Stanley 4" Ribbits, Keitech Noisy Flappers, and Zoom Horny Toads. It had no problem casting the Keitech and Zoom, but the Stanley 4" is a lot lighter and I would have to cast it with more line out. You should have no problems with the MH/F for those presentations and their weights should be right in the wheel house for the MH. The Aird X is also pretty lightweight considering the cost of the rod, I had no problem throwing it hundreds of time in the middle of summer heat.
  20. I wish I could get my port side scan to look like that at 5.4mph.
  21. @heyitskirby I fish from my boat for them. But people definitely have success fishing under the Occoquan Foot Bridge on the south side rocks, except at high tide when I've seen the rocks become fully submerged. I think people park on Mill Street in the historic district, or the service road on the other side of the river when they walk up to the pump station. Here's a google pin of where I see people fishing for shad with a lot of success. 22. I think there are a good amount of bass clubs that run the Susquehanna River, and Delaware River. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/27-bass-clubs/ Or ask here if anyone wants a fishing buddy: There are lots of nice people on this forum that have open seats, just ask. Please be polite and courteous and know the rules of the road though, such as offering to chip in for gas or ramp fees. I was fortunate enough to spend time in Lake Winnepausaukee and a forum member took me out on his boat, it was like a guided trip.
  23. Maybe I missed the announcement, but are new HB units and Mega Live coming out this year? All the current models are discounted or have rebates, and usually that means new models.
  24. You're in a pickle, and with those parameters like Gimruis said, I don't think a bass boat will work in your scenario. I think getting one would create more headaches, problems, and stress. Stick with the kayak until your situation changes. Also look into joining a local bass fishing club as a co-angler that will get you on a boat several times a year.
  25. Yep, I fish for shad at Fletcher's and the Occoquan River. My go to is a 1/4 oz shad dart (color varies depending on the water stain), followed by a 1/16oz Nungesser gold spoon. I vary my retrieve, but it seems like working it like a jerkbait has gotten the most bites for me. It may be because the darts I'm using have blades and the sudden jerks give off more flash. I'll probably hit Fletcher's this Friday after this week's warm up. Darts I'm using: https://a.co/d/2NN15lp
