  1. You sure? I just bought a Shimano rod, and as always, it was not 20% off in the cart or checkout, but it was 20% off in the email confirmation.
  2. After several years of on and off chasing for trophy stripers, I finally caught a nice one coming in at 43.5".
  3. I used to dig up grubs in the playground mulch near my house and put them under a bobber as a kid....I never caught anything with them unfortunately. I just don't think they wiggle as much as a nightcrawler to attract fish, or they were just too big for the sunfish that were around.
  4. I didn't throw any crankbaits, and used a jerkbait on one outting in 2023. I used a lot of soft plastics over hard baits this year.
  5. Other than MCPS Spring Break, and Easter weekend, I'm usually free in the spring so I'm in with my boat as well.
  6. Yes, Luxardo or bust. Smoked old fashion is my go to cocktail, except when it gets warm, then it’s a Paper Plane. Fresh squeezed lemon juice is a must or it gets too tart.
  7. Gotcha. I've seen crappie fisherman use these before too, but they'll stick outside the gunnel a bit. https://a.co/d/0Y7m211
  8. Will vertical rod holders on the center console get in the way when casting?
  9. Amazon has the Gomexus carbon fiber 95mm handles on sale for $24. https://a.co/d/9YmgxHw
  10. Anything that Sazerac Co makes is allocated at MSRP. I can find it all day for $50 in DC, but it's $26 in MoCo and lasts only a few days on the shelf as their bottom entry bourbon. Stuff like Eagle Rare will be gone in 15 minutes, and EH Taylor or Blantons you have to line up at 7AM once a month for. That being said, Bowman Brothers Small batch, or John J Bowman Single Barrel are better alternatives in VA. They use Buffalo Trace distillate, and re-distill it in copper stills in Fredericksburg and then age it up.
  11. Or maybe a BFS forum.....kinda kidding but not totally kidding.
  12. This guy says the crystals are in the "front" of the transducer, so he installs it backwards for better reading. He says he gets scans at 40mph...that's impressive for a 3 in 1, non-high speed transducer. Anyone else install it this way?
  13. Looks interesting, based out of WI. I had another really good WI rye, Driftless Glen. WI is doing some good whiskey stuff.
  14. Love my PVB 1875XS. Your Nissan Frontier should be able to tow it. I wish I could fit a 2075 in my garage, and also I wish I had the padded deck.
  15. I have the XG, I use it for frogging.
  16. Their 2020 Special Release, Single Barrel BS Rye was special. It's impossible to find for the retail price though. They just recently started putting out a regular shelf offering for of their Single Barrel BS Rye (a little younger than the 2020 Release), and it's still fantastic. Not quite as oaky and musty as the 2020 Special Release Rye, but for ~$70, it's really good. I did a blind side by side between the two ryes with some friends, and we were split 50/50 between them. I'm not a fan of the single barrel 94 proof rye though, it's thin and tannic.
  17. Look for their Single Barrel, Barrel Strength offerings, or JD10 & 12. If you're lucky, you might come across their annual special release. Their lower proof stuff is OK, but not as viscous and flavorful.
  18. Starting early tonight....came back from a long fishing trip to a bunch of work that was out of my control, but I have to clean it up. The amount of crap requires a hazmat.
  19. I only browse a few sections on this site, but BR is well organized so that you can cherry pick what you're interested in. As for forum moderation, maybe it's good that you have to think twice before you post some things. The internet removes that face to face interaction, thinking twice before posting isn't necessarily a bad thing.
  20. I just fished the Piankatank, and the salt has come way up the river. Crab pots and redfish way up near the Dragon. No signs of snakehead, and fishing was slow for this time of year.
  21. 1. From what I read - I believe those spots have fish. Are those spot fine and I should keep trying in those areas ? any particular bait/lures ? These spots have fish, but they are all tidal, so be mindful of the moving tide. I prefer a falling tide on the Potomac. But look for moving water and structure or eddies near them, that's where predatory fish will be. I use this site to check tides: https://www.saltwatertides.com/dynamic.dir/potomacsites.html A texas rig worm or craw is always a good choice, but I prefer to power fish with a chatterbait or spinnerbait. A popper in the right conditions. 2. Do you know any other spots that can be interesting ? Of course topics about Fletcher's Cove, Anacostia River park, Kingman Island exist online but those area are so big, any specific area ? Add Four Mile Run to your list, or Rock Creek Park, and even the C&O Canal in Georgetown. There are lots of YouTube videos of people catching in those spots. 3. Any advice on the rig to use ? lures ? color ? I like white, and green pumpkin. It just depends on the water color. The color in the Potomac around DC varies a lot, but something I always like something flashy that sticks out. For me, the lure is dictated by where/what I'm fishing. If it's pads, I'll throw a weedless frog, stickbait, or even fluke in there. A popper on the edges, or chatterbait/spinnerbait parallel to the pad line or grass line. If it's wood, a spinnerbait or jig. If it's an open flat, chatterbait or shallow crank. Just keep trying lots of presentations until you get confidence in something they like, and if you're limited to bank fishing, keep it simple. You'll break off a lot so don't throw expensive $30 swimbaits. A $3 paddletail will probably get you the same bite, but a lot less monetary loss. Same goes for line, spool up 40lb braid, and use a two foot 15lb leader so if you break off, it'll be the leader and not 30 yards of braid or other main line.
  22. Take a horse and carriage ride that'll take you through South of Broad, you'll see amazing houses and some of the history. Husk is a Charleston staple. Hank's Seafood is an upscale seafood place. If it's a nice night out, check out the rooftop bar at the Vendue Inn. I like staying in the French Quarter because of the lively nightlife and it's just close to everything. Definitely do a ghost tour!

https://agedandore.com/ I have the 500ml travel decanter and flight bottles. Very well made gear.

It looks like they repo'd their own debt first, so that when they file Chapter 11, their lien won't be wiped out. Some of these brands will probably be discontinued if they do file for bankruptcy, as Sycamore trims the fat to turn this around. PE firms don't acquire companies to lose money, they acquire assets and figure out how to get rid of the debt and then turn it around for a profit.
