  1. I have Navionics on my Helix10 G3Ns and it has no problem, but I do have to select it as the source card, rather than use the automatic selection.
  2. Seems like a battery load issue, maybe try using them under full load individually and see if one cuts out.
  3. I replaced the Ultrex 52” that came with my PVB with the Quest version of it, what info do you need?
  4. Check the cable connections to see if they're snug. If you have another Helix or a buddy who has one, see if you can swap and try and eliminate what is working and what isn't. I had an Ultrex with built-in sonar to a Helix 10 that stopped working, and it ended up being the adapter cable from the Ultrex to the Helix.
  5. Old Forester Rye 100proof. $25 bottle that holds up to the bitters and simple syrup.
  6. Call their US numbers if you know the part.
  7. I wrap the braid around my fish lip grippers a few times. Or I use braid to light leader so I can break the leader if needed.
  8. Warning: Long Post. TL;DR: Work has kept me off the water, and BOAT = break out another thousand, it's true. One good fishing day makes it all worth it. This spring has been awful for fishing for me, mostly due to work. I missed the shad run, even through it started in March and went through May. I usually get out to Fletcher's and Occoquan at least once, but I couldn't make it happen. I also missed the crappie spawn, which I regret the most because that type of fishing makes my 84 year old dad the happiest. I got out to Little Seneca Lake for a quick Sunday trip a month ago and did well there with a mix of spawning/post spawn bass. Then I tried to get out there again for some top water action and my Ultrex brushes burned out because I switched to lithium, and didn't know Minnkota advises to not run at speed 10 for extended periods of time because of the high amperage and their brushed models weren't designed to dissipate the heat quick enough. So I upgraded to the Ultrex Quest to take care of that, but had to find the time to install it. I finally go out on a real fishing trip this week and went to my tried and true spot, Mattawoman. I got there at sunrise and it was nice and foggy. I thought the pads would be where it was at and went way up the creek to look for clear water in the pads. I got there and got a nice 2lber in the first few casts and thought I was going to crush it in the pads, but I only managed one small dink the next 5 hours. The water was ultraclear, but there was just no baitfish in there. It was about 11AM and midway through the outgoing tide and decided to go back home. It was getting hot, and the clouds were gone, it was blue bird skies. On my way back I noticed some baitfish getting pushed up a small creek with a strong outflow, so I went to check it out. Bait was getting pushed all over the spotty hydrilla. The one lure I didn't throw all day was a popper, and I always love throwing one, so against conventional wisdom, I threw a silver Rico in blue bird skies. And that's what they wanted, I was catching LMB on every other cast, sometimes just deadsticking it and letting it drift. I lost several fish because they would hit it as soon as it hit the water and I couldn't reel up the slack quick enough. It slowed down to about 1 fish every 10 casts around 12:45P and I decided to leave to beat traffic on VA's 495 side. On my way out I could see wolfpacks of 2-3lbers cruising the edge of channel, and saw some snakeheads circling in and out of the hydrilla, chasing baitfish. I've never seen so many good sized LMB just cruising like that.
  9. Centennial will be less grassy on the rock wall side. Lake Elkhorn is also grassy, but fishable with a frog on the other side of the grass from the bank. But all those Columbia lakes are pressured and you'll want to fish early or late. There's also Little Patuxent River at Savage Mills on the other side of I-95 that you can hike, and has trout/snakeheads. If you have access to a kayak you can fish Rocky Gorge Reservoir from two landing areas.
  10. Yes, add some coolant to the fill line. When was the last time the coolant was changed? I change the engine thermostat every 60K miles or so and the coolant gets changed as well. Last time I checked my coolant fill, it was way lower than expected and found crack in the coolant line flange that had to be replaced.
  11. The old Tatula Elite AGS M/MH will do 1/8 to 3/4 comfortably. I’ve thrown a 1oz swim bait with it but I wasn’t loading the tip.
  12. West Marine has Mustang Elite pfds for $165 shipped online.
  13. Keep in mind, value the equipment at used prices, not retail. You will have no warranty them. You may be able to pay a fee to transfer any warranty the Triton has. I think it’s overpriced at $50K.
  14. Congrats, you're gonna love the hull and how it cuts through 2 footers like butter.
  15. Congrats, do you mind disclosing the asking price, and what you sold it for?
  16. I like Garmins interface. I moved to HB Helix’s to network everything, but I prefer the Garmin GUI.
  17. @SirWoogie Yep, the price wasn't awful, considering I didn't have to add a separate starter/house battery for 5 total batteries (3 TM, 1 starter, 1 house). I saved on that, and not having to upgrade from a 4 bank to 5 bank. It was almost a wash, and will pay for itself if it lasts the amount of cycles their claim. FL Lithium guys are really responsive, I've called 4 times to ask questions and they've picked up and chatted with me right away. Their spec sheet says they meet Mercury standards which is what I run. I've only been out twice with it and it started it up fine and I came home with 87% left on it after 6 hours of three Helix 10's running all day. One quirk they helped me figure out was when I initially charged it with a NoCo GenPro10 on Li mode, it would only get to 93% SOC, but they asked me to try on AGM mode and now it'll hit 100% SOC. Here's their warranty info from their site, lifetime but who knows if they'll be around that long. If I get 5 years+ out of it, I'll consider it a win. 18. I see the Blue Seas getting recommended very often, and the specs look a little more robust. But sure, $15 vs $20, shipped is up to the consumer, I'm just passing on the info based on the MSRP.
  19. Amazon Lightning Deal: https://a.co/d/267s8df $23.60 before tax, just the simple kill switch.
  20. NoCo Genius or Battery Tender.
  21. What model Ultrex do you have, MSI, MDI, or US2? Or just take a picture of the Ultrex transducer and post it here.
  22. Diagram 2: https://humminbird.johnsonoutdoors.com/us/support/networking-diagrams That round ethernet cable from the Helix goes to the ethernet box. For your Ultrex, to use the built-in sonar, you'll need an adapter cable (MKR-MI-1) that has a round end (which connects to your Ultrex), and a square end (which connects to your Helix). Then you'll need to select the correct transducer in your Helix bow unit (HW Built-In: MSI+) or something like that.

  24. I called Florida Lithium about the thread size. The support person who answered said their engineering desk had been tinkering with longer M8 bolts and he didn't know off the top of his head. So he said he'd call back in about 15 minutes after he talked to engineering. He called back promptly and explained that they didn't recommend any bolt other than the ones they provided (which had locking washers) because of the threading had to be precise due the electronics inside. I kind of stopped listening after he said he didn't recommend aftermarket bolts. That being said, I'm a pencil pusher, not an electrical engineer so I didn't push back any further. But I will say, the guys at Florida Lithium have been really good so far in the customer service department. I'll post more in a battery review thread after I get some time on the water with it, but so far I'm very impressed with the dual purpose LiFePO4 they have.
  25. Looks like it's rated for 250A, and it has a 50A breaker on the lead to the battery, and the charger lead to the bus bar has it's own 15A breaker.
