  1. The Xplore GUI and quickness looks really good.
  2. The Xplore seems like it would work with the Solix since it uses the OneBoat network, and Lakemaster and Coastmaster. I will be upgrading my Helix10s to Xplore, and ML2. I just don’t know if I will need/want target lock.
  3. I get bubble gum from Uncle Nearest. It's not bad whiskey, but just not my jam.
  4. I'm hoping it's a MegaLive and 360 combo unit. If that comes out, I don't think I can wait a year.
  5. Any guesses? MegaLive 2.0 and some replacement for the Helix?
  6. Hit Little Seneca Lake yesterday for a couple hours, I've never fished this lake in November, or anytime in the fall for that matter. After the spring/early summer bite, this place is feast or famine for me and I usually hit other bodies of water, but since it gets dark by 5PM it's really my only option since it's 20 minutes away with the amount of time I had. My plan was to do some cranking and to move around to find fish, I went to the first big creek on the right and hit the left split and got a nice 3lber on a 5' crankbait. Then the wind seemed to die down and some clouds rolled in with a slight drizzle, so I headed to the big point near the bridge. I was surprised to see top water action, so I tried a small spook, and I had one swipe at it. I threw a small paddletail and got a couple dinks to bite, but I wanted to upsize and then threw a 7" keitech fat impact swing on a big underspin. I got thumped twice, but couldn't get a hookup. As the wind picked up again I threw a jerkbait, and that was what they wanted. I got one other nice LMB, and several small ones in about 10 casts. Then the winds picked up more, and the bite shut down by 4PM.
  7. I first started throwing chatterbaits on a 7’ MH/F rod, and I would say I lost 40% of the fish to jumps. After a season of that I realized that the big hook was making a bigger hole whenever a fish jumped and would eventually get big enough to pop out. I switched to a mod-fast rod, but not glass and I can’t recall losing a fish on it since. I may try a glass rod, but I prefer ripping a chatter bait through the grass, especially the thick hydrilla we have.
  8. Rod A might be graphite, so if you tried to throw a 3oz lure on it, the tip would probably snap. Rod B may be have a lot of fiberglass in it, so the tip could bend a lot without snapping, like an UglyStik. Ignore the naming, i.e. Heavy vs Medium Heavy, and just look at the lure weight recommendation.
  9. Either use a snap, or tie a loop knot. I find doubling up can affect the action intended for the lure, at least that’s my experience and catch rate.
  10. I have the 701HRS, and use it for popping corks. It will absolutely bomb my popping cork set up and loads up nicely because of the regular action tip. It should be able to throw 1/4oz, but not quite sure about 1/8oz.
  11. A 16’ bass tracker with an epropulsion electric motor would do you right. Bigger AH lifepo4 batteries are more affordable and lightweight.
  12. Need? Definitely not. Like everyone else posted, it's not that useful. I maybe use it 2% of the time when I'm looking at my bow unit.
  13. 20lb bright braid to a fluoro (usually 12lb) leader for my worming/senko spinning rods. I tie a 20 wrap FG at home with a 3-4' leader. I check the leader for nicks/fraying especially when I'm fishing structure and re-tie accordingly. That leader length usually lasts me 2-3 trips. I like it because it gets a better vertical fall, and love seeing that slack line start going left or right.
  14. I have the previous model of it, and it's my bank fishing rod because it's really versatile and can throw pretty much everything. Interesting about your hookset problems, I never really had that, using 30lb J-Braid X8 and sometimes a fluoro leader. I probably like it most for small jerkbaits, and small paddletails.
  15. I've been using these on paddletails, especially Keitechs which are softer rubber and tend to start sliding after catching a fish. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Rapid_Fishing_Solutions_Rapid_Hook_All/descpage-RAPIDH.html I think I saw a YT video that you can DIY these with a hole punch from plastic container type material.
  16. They're $100 off now at TW, and the 20% sale is going all month long. The thing is, TW usually takes the 20% off after you place the order for vendors like Daiwa, Shimano and MB, but I don't really *need* a new rod, but it's tempting for a presentation that I may throw once or twice a year.
  17. Anyone know if the TW 20% Black Friday sale stacks with the MB Orochii $100 off sale?
  18. It's not even January yet...there's still softwater out there....get out and fish!
  19. Don’t care how people pronounce it as long as they don’t spell it “counsel”. 😀
  20. Needed a nice dram tonight. Been too crazy at work...haven't fished in 2 weeks.
  21. It looks like it sold out, I bought 2 with free prime shipping. The 4lb/25yards is $5.11, but I dunno what that would be used for other than trout/panfish leaders.
  22. Amazon has Seaguar Blue fluoro leader 12lbs/25yards for $5.33 before tax. https://a.co/d/9x27IpJ Looks to be sold out now.
  23. My current, ezmode recipe is a chuck short rib ragu. My kids crush it and it's somewhat set it and forget it. * 3-4lbs short rib, or chuck, top round, whatever floats your boat. If you go bone-in, you probably need more. * 1 cup of each: diced carrots, yellow onion, celery. More or less of each is fine. More carrots if you like sweeter ragu. * 3 cloves minced garlic * 3oz tomato paste * 28oz whole peeled tomatoes (take a table knife or fork and break it up in the can) * 3 bay leaves, 4-5 sprigs fresh thyme (bundle these up with some cooking twine to make it easier to take out) * 2 table spoons of italian seasoning, more or less to taste. * 1/2 bottle of a heavy red wine, like a cab or bordeaux * 16 to 32oz beef stock. 16oz or less if you like your ragu meatier, or 32oz if you like it more saucy. Pre-heat oven to 300F. Pat meat dry and coat with salt and pepper. Use a large dutch oven, heat it up on medium+ and coat bottom with olive oil, sear the meat on all sides and remove. Add onions to just become translucent, then add carrots and celery until just softening up. Add garlic for a few minutes more. Add tomato paste and continue to stir so it doesn't burn. Add red wine and start to scrape the bottom to get all the bits from the beef sear off. Keep simmering until the alchohol is burned off, then add the beef stock, can of whole peeled tomatoes, bay leaves, thyme, and italian seasoning and bring to a slight simmer. Add beef and make sure it's covered by the liquid. Cover fully and put it in the oven for 2 hours. After 2 hours, take a look at the sauce, if it's too thick, add some more beef stock. Place the lid slightly ajar and put it back in for 1 more hour, then check the meat for tenderness. Remove the pot from the oven, remove the thyme and bay leave bundle and remove the meat to a big bowl and start to shred to your liking. I prefer big chunks of meat. This is the optional part. You can put the shredded meat back into the sauce now, OR take an immersion blender and smooth out the sauce before putting the meat back in. I prefer the blended with big chunks of meat. Salt to preference and let it cool. I think the ragu tastes better after it's cooled down and then reheated. Serve over a thick pasta, like pappardelle or fettucine, topped with shaved parmesan and/or chopped parsley. Bon appetite!
  24. https://excelboats.com/model/river-warrior-side-console/ They have some cool boats, I have a Lund PVB 1875 mainly because of the 4 seats, but I really like the Command Pro 183 layout too.
  25. 10% off BPS if you order online and pick up instore, works on electronics like Humminbird/Garmin. The Echomap12 UltraSV with GT54 is $1350 before tax.
