Do I Really Need to Carpet My Jon Boat Deck?
Catt got it right. Go with aluminum. It may cost a little more but you won't have to worry about having to redo it every few years. Also like Crestliner 2008 idea about the Rhino Coat in the boat.

Fishing Hats
I wear a BPS ball cap. The only time I wear a hat is when i'm fishing. I really need to be looking at some of the other styles that offer a lot more sun protection.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid vs Sufix Advance
I have not had a chance to try Sufix Advance yet. I use Sufix Siege on several setups and really like it. Casts and handles really well and is very abrasion resistant. Seems to be a very strong line per pound test.

What are your best rods and reels for the money?
I bought a couple of Cabelas Fish Eagle 6'6" spinning rods this year. I only got to use them 2 or 3 times. Caught a couple of small ones on them. They seem to be decent rods.

Weird Underspin Technique is Working.... but I NEED SOME HELP!!!
Unless the water is really clear I would recommend throwing an under spin on a 5:1 reel or about 20 IPT. I have my best luck with them on a slower reel.

Favorite fishing lines
I like #12 Sufix Siege for moving baits and top water. #12 Sunline super florocarbon for jigs and Texas rigs. #8 or #10 Sufix siege for your spinning rod.

skipping 100 yds. +
I knew something was up when I saw the heading. I would have to cast at least three times to say I got 100 yards off the spool. Winter is just getting started. What kind of stories will he be telling by the time it is over?

Hope everything continues to be okay for you.

What's your current favorite lure?
While I have done fairly well with standard War Eagle spinner baits I like the screaming eagle version. It is a 1/2 ounce spinner bait on a 1/4 ounce frame. I seem to get more bites on it with it being smaller.

Oregon Native is just having a delayed effect from the earthquake they had down there.

First Snow Storm of this Winter
By the fact that none of them speak much English you have to wonder if they are a legal licensed business. Good luck and hope everything works out okay.

Hole / Bad Weld ??
Hello and welcome to the forum. If the boat is new and under warranty I would definitely take it to the dealer to be repaired.

Top Water Gear Ratio : 6:3:1 or 7:5:1 ?
I use a 6:3:1 for all of my top water fishing. I have used a 5:1:1 for buzz baits. I don't try to run buzz baits like they are on a race track.

Does Color Matter in Line?
The clear or green will both be okay. I fished with a fellow several years ago that tried some red mono when red was all the rage about everything. He never caught a fish until he took it off and put some clear line on his setups.

Paranormal Fishing Stories
Many years ago I was fishing a lake I didn't fish very often. It was late September or October as it was getting dark fairly early. I decided to fish a while in a cove before I went in even though it was getting dark. Suddenly something let out a blood curdling scream in a heavily wooded area by where I was fishing. Didn't see or hear anything else for a while. About 30 minutes later it did it again. Never did know what it was. Someone told me later that skunks can make those screams. I will never know. This is story about weather. Fishing one day and the lake was not super busy. After awhile I noticed everything getting really calm. Middle of the day and the wind quits blowing, the birds and insects were silent, and no boats or people around to be heard anywhere. Never seen it like that before. About 3 hours later right after I left the boat ramp to go home a big rain storm hit. Glad I wasn't on the water then.
