  1. I use Zoom more than any of them. I do have some in Berkley, Reaction Innovations, Wave Worms, and BPS stickos. Have a couple of packs of Yamamoto senkos.
  2. I like the traditional type rods with a full cork handle. I won't buy any bright florescent rods and I won't buy any with the split grip.

  5. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  6. I think you should listen to your wife. Take it to a reputable dealer or repair shop.
  7. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  8. I'm glad you can explain things in such a simple easy to understand way. However you guys needs watch you language in some of these other posts. This is a family friendly forum.
  9. Hopefully a lot less rain than last year where I can get out fishing more. Plus some improvements in my health to feel better.
  10. I thought I would have to win the lottery to retire. I told myself I could keep doing this. My body said no way. The knees are done and ain't doing this anymore so I retired.
  11. Congratulations on your upcoming retirement. I would think about Kentucky or Barkley lakes. Dale Hollow is good for smallmouth. Doing this in August could be tough as it can get pretty hot around here in the summer.
  12. Several years ago I went to BPS during there big spring classic sale. Stopped at the fishing counter to see about buying a reel. I got a guy from Shimano they had helping out behind the counter. I don't remember what reel I was checking on. This guy from Shimano ran the quality of it down so bad it wasn't funny to try to get me to buy a Shimano. I left without buying a reel.
  13. My knees are so bad from arthritis I always use a regular seat. I don't even own a butt seat. I never did stand up to fish from a boat except when I needed to stretch my legs. tander and I are both about the same age. I would ignore these little young snot nosed brats like A-Jay.
  14. Without knowing what baits you are using it is hard to say. You will be okay with with a M/H for most of them. If you are throwing crankbaits you would be better off with a medium action.
  15. Hello and welcome to the forum. Hope everything works out okay for with your job situation.
  16. I thought I was the last one left that had not gone high speed crazy with fishing reels. I quit buying Shimano due to them raising prices and gear ratio speed at the same time. I do just fine with the slower speeds for many applications.
  17. Hello and welcome to the forum. Beware the bait monkey is coming for you.
  18. I have had good luck using watermelon seed color in soft plastics in clear water. In stained water I would use junebug, black and blue, and sprayed grass colors.
  19. I use a lot of baby brush hogs. Had really good luck on several colors. I have caught a few on the brush hog. I tend to use them more in dirtier water. As for selection BPS has more of the colors than most places. They will also cost you more there. You can check Tackle Warehouse website. they have a lot of colors.
  20. I agree about trying to find out if it is a dream or not. If I could catch one 5 pounder a year I would be having a good year. It just doesn't happen very often. At least not for me. This is why I don't fish tournaments.
  21. 2018 was a really bad year for me. Didn't catch anything over 3#. My biggest LMB and SMB both caught on baby brush hogs.
  22. Just wanted to say happy new year to everyone. Hope we all have a great 2019.
  23. Why not. You need something to do in your spare time.
  24. My last bass of the year was caught some time in mid to late October. It was a smallmouth. No big one as it was about 14". It was the only smallmouth I caught this year.
  25. That possibility has been discussed with my doctor. I need to do this to lose some weight more than anything.
