  1. I also fish an area like this although there are areas 10 feet deep. I am fishing from a boat and struggle to catch fish there. It has largemouth and smallmouth both in it. My best luck has been on a bluegill color DT4, finesse worms on a shaky head or Texas rig, and a Zoom grub in rootbeer pepper green.
  2. I agree with Hulkster. I love Sufix Siege line. I use 12 pound on my baitcasters for crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and topwaters. I use 10 pound on my spinning reels with an 8pound floro leader. I use Sunline Super floro on my soft bait and jig setups. It is one of your cheaper floro lines but has worked very well for me.
  3. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  4. Now I understand. I thought it was a model of the Sworming Hornet. I usually put a swimming fluke on mine.
  5. I also fish the Sworming hornet underspin. I don't know what the LFT Live Magic Shad is that roadwarrior mentioned.
  6. Considering what it would cost for one of these I would rather spend the money on a decent boat.
  7. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  8. Went to the local Cabelas store this morning. Saw that the bargain cave sign was gone and the area was now empty. Asked a guy in the fishing department about this. He said BPS had decided not every Cabelas store would have a bargain cave. They will now be designated to certain stores to have them. Just more changes to wonder about. They also had a lot of empty areas in the fishing department where they were moving stuff around. I did buy a 6'6" medium fisheagle spinning rod while they are on sale. First Cabelas rod I have ever tried.

  11. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  12. Several years ago I was talking to some guys on the water in a new jon boat. I believe it was a 14' boat with a 9.9 four stroke outboard motor on it. I told them I was wondering what a set up like that cost. They replied about $4800. I don't know if that included the depth finder or trolling motor or not. It was a Bass tracker boat and Mercury motor that had come from our local dealer.
  13. I only watched about 5 minutes of it. Once I saw what he did I figure a shaky head will be just as good or better.
  14. Currently using a 6' BPS bionic blade MH. Diawa fuego spinning reel with 10 pound sufix siege for a main line, a barrel swivel and about a 3' floro leader in 8 pound test. Have several different types of shaky heads most of them are 1/4 ounce.
  15. Hello and welcome to the forum. You will learn as you go what kind of setups you need for different types of baits. There is plenty of help and information on here to check out.
  16. Hello and welcome to the forum. If you can find a serial number on the hull you might be able to get some info on it. Good luck with it.
  17. If you aren't catching fish on green pumpkin you need to have the fish tested to see if they are color blind.
  18. I am using 3 or 4 different models of BPS rods. Baitcasters are mostly Lews with and odd Shimano or Abu to use once in a while. Spinning reels are Daiwa.
  19. I set mine up as a Texas rig. I use a gama skip gap hook in 1/0 with an 1/8 ounce sinker and rarely miss a fish.

  21. Hello and welcome to the forum from another Ky. bass chaser. Good luck with your fishing.
  22. I also have a BB1 and two MB reels I personally like the the BB1 better but they are both okay. I don't care anything about the magnetic brakes on the MB. I don't use them and leave them turned off. You need to decide if you like magnetic brakes or not. The BB1 also has a deeper spool to hold more line. Lead Head is right about the BB1 being about $20 more.
  23. I always Texas rig mine and I always peg my weight. Most of the places I fish you will stay hung up with an open hook on a jig head. I tend to get hung up a lot less with a pegged weight.
  24. And I thought I was the only one on here that felt that bad.
  25. I should have told you what I do. My garage floor is fairly level so I don't need any wheel chocks. I use an old automotive jack stand to support the front end of the boat and trailer. I only use the jack stand to raise and lower it when hooking up or unhooking.
