I am like @A-Jay in that I grew up in a time where guys always carried pocket knives. I have had many knives over the years. I have used Buck, Hen and Rooster, and Case just to name a few. I currently carry a Case 3 blade bone handle medium stockman. I always liked the medium stockmans better than anything else.

I have to agree with @Hulkster on this. I have been using Sufix Siege for along time and very rarely ever have a problem with it. I never used the XL or XT. I used Stren years ago until I got a bad spool of it. I never bought any more of it.

I had a bass hit a crankbait right after it landed on the water. I had an overrun and started picking it out. That fish jumped twice but I still got it in after I straightened my line out.

Looks like you have done an excellent job on it. Good luck on the maiden voyage and don't forget to put the plug in.

Well the storms came through today dumping heavy rain and a lot of wind. Knocked our electric out for about six hours. Got the generator out and ran it to keep the refrigerators going so we didn't lose any food. It was 82* in the house when I finally got the cooling back on.

It has ben in the mid 90s here this week and the heat index around 105. It is supposed to cool off this weekend and then get even hotter next week. I have seen them forecasting highs close to 100 next week. We have a shot at a very little bit of rain coming in Friday. As far as what @MN Fisher said as much as I hate the heat I will keep it if he will keep his cold and snow up there. LOL

We are living the same life right now. I am spending most of my time in the basement. I need to be doing some work outside but it is so hot and miserable I can't do it. It is supposed to cool off for the weekend and then get even hotter next week.

It was 80* here at 6:00 this morning. With temps running in the mid 90s and heat index of 105*. Between the extreme heat and the gas prices I will be staying home until it cools off some. I don't tolerate extreme heat very well anymore.

Pradco bought out Norman and Bandit lures. I had seen what happened to other bait companies they bought out. That is why I stocked up on favorite colors in both of those brands while I could still get them.

I will try baits in one or two colors I like. If they are fish catchers I will buy several more of them and maybe try them in other colors. If I find out a company has been bought out I really stock up on the ones I like. A lot of baits and colors have been known to disappear after a buy out.

I always rig my Zoom worms tail down. I have never tried Yums. I think the tail needs to be down if you are going to be buzzing it across the surface. Fishing deep it may not matter.

I always take a gallon jug of ice water as well as some bottled water and Gatorade in a cooler. I am bad about not drinking enough water. I have gotten leg cramps many times while out fishing in the heat. A lot of times I can drink water and they will go away. I usually drink the Gatorade on the way home.

Several years ago I was fishing a creek. After a while a helicopter came in over the area. They spent a lot of time watching people in boats and flying over the area. Never did find out who or what they were looking for.
