  1. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  2. I don't mind mowing and try to get it done when it needs it. I usually use the weed eater and blower every other time I mow.
  3. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  4. It looks like I am using the same lock @TOXIC was using. I leave my receiver in place during fishing season for me. I take it out and store in the truck in the winter time. So far no problems. On rare occasion I take it out in the summer.
  5. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  6. I was busy out fishing yesterday. I actually caught two bass. Nothing real big but they were bass. I have never caught a log that big. Maybe I need to change my name on here. LOL
  7. I've never owned or used any high end rods so I will have to go with my old BPS Pro Qualifier in 6' MH. Use it for my soft plastics. It has a Lew's Tournament MP on it in 6.8:1.
  8. I hate fishing in the wind. A very light breeze with a little chop on the water is okay. I don't even try to fish the wind blown banks. I have never caught a fish doing that.
  9. I usually start with a crankbait and spinnerbait and switch between the two. If nothing happens I move to the Trig and jig. What gets me if nothing is happening and I think it's time to change baits or colors I will catch one on what I'm getting ready to take off.
  10. Glad you came out okay. You were very lucky it worked out the way it did. I try to use the lanyard for the kill switch but I am bad about forgetting to use it. My first boat was a tiller handle and had no cut off safety switches.
  11. In a lot of ways I'm doing better now than when I retired almost eight years ago. Before I had knee replacement surgeries my knees were so bad if I mowed the yard it would take me 2 or 3 days to recover to feel like going fishing. Now I can mow one day and fish the next day. I have some shoulder pain from a lot of casting and sometimes my back will hurt but I can usually keep going for several hours. I'm 70 and when I was working every job I had was physically demanding. I'm lucky to be doing as good as I am.
  12. You certainly made it tough in picking just one. If that's all I can use I would go with a Zoom U Tail.
  13. Years ago if the water was too muddy for bass fishing we would fish with nightcrawlers on the bottom for catfish. Caught several eels and a salamander. Caught a water snake on a crankbait while bass fishing. Fellow I was fishing with caught a rod and reel.
  14. I always push the guard down several times and try to spread it out. Very rarely do I trim any of it off at the base. I have separated the skirt and trimmed the front half down to make it a finesse jig.
  15. One thing I forgot to mention in my other posts is one of them still had a $1.89 price tag on it. Wish they were that cheap now.
  16. I agree with @Hulkster about Sufix Siege. It has worked great on baitcasting and spinning setups. Knot strength is good and very abrasion resistant.
  17. Never caught a fish on a Hula Popper. I can catch plenty with a Rebel Pop R. Never caught anything on a Ned rig but a shaky head works fine. There are many tricks I haven't tried and some I know I never will try.
  18. I will put my Curado B and Citica D reels up against any of them for smoothness.
  19. In my other post I forgot to mention if it is bad enough to have to start cutting line out I will do that at home. I normally put new line on if it is that bad.
  20. I have a 1998 Bass Tracker 175 with a 40HP on it. When I had to replace my motor the dealer told me 75HP is the maximum for this boat. If I went to a four stroke I could only go to a 60HP due to the weight factor.
  21. Welcome back to the forum.
  22. Happy Easter to all.
  23. I used to fish alone most of the time. Had one regular fishing buddy for a few years. Ever since I had knee replacement surgeries in 2019 my wife has gone with me every time. She doesn't like to be out as long a I do but that is okay. I still get some time on the water and cut the trips shorter for her so it is okay.
  24. I try to get a backlash out if possible in 5 minutes or less. If it takes any longer I either put it away or swap it out with a replacement reel. It depends on how much longer I plan to fish.
  25. Many years ago my brother and I were coming down the river back to the boat ramp. We saw a rescue squad boat being pulled out. The guy that owned the ramp said some college boys were down there. Evidently they had to much to drink and one of them tried to swim across the river and didn't make it. They had recovered his body just before we got there.
