  1. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  2. I still prefer the old style tackle boxes. I have Plano 9606 and an 8606 I got from @MN Fisher. I do use both of them depending on where I'm fishing determines which one I take. I don't want a tackle bag. One thing I really like is the fact I have pulled my boat home in a monsoon and nothing in the tackle box got wet.
  3. This is also free fishing weekend here in Kentucky. Weather here is supposed to be perfect for fishing. Since I don't fight the weekend crowd anymore so I won't be on the water.
  4. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  5. I have never done any good fishing in the rain. I have been caught in so many bad storms while on the water I won't even consider going fishing in the rain.
  6. Praying for all of you to be comforted.

  9. I don't fish on weekends now. I certainly won't fish on any holiday weekend.
  10. I'm not trying to hijack this thread but I need to ask a stupid question. What is the purpose of using a regular vest when the big motor is running and switching to an inflatable for fishing? What am I missing?
  11. Be happy they want to keep you around. Years ago a couple both worked in different departments where I worked so we all knew each other. The first time I fished with him we took my boat. His wife told me as we were leaving he was worth more dead than alive if I didn't bring him back. She didn't offer to split the insurance money with me so I brought him back. Just remember you have to behave more now than your used to.

  15. Some people need to have their business minded for them. I had a neighbor that had a leg amputated from diabetes. He could get out and mow his front yard but would not mow the back. Another neighbor and I offered to help him and mow and weed eat for him. He wouldn't let us. After we started having a lot of snakes show up and some one spotted rats we called in on him. He got his son to come mow for him. About a year later we called in on him again. He finally bought a riding mower to keep it mowed.
  16. Praying that everything gets better for all of you. The girls are very lucky to have you to help them.
  17. It will make a difference for me. The lakes I like to fish the most are around 115 miles round trip. I will be fishing places closer to home most of the time. I have a 17' Bass Tracker with a 40 HP Mercury. It is very easy on gas so I will be okay. Gas is $4.29 here right now.

  23. RIP Ray Scott. Praying for the family.
  24. I also wear blue jeans and closed shoes all the time. I want all the protection I can get. Too many people would rather worry about comfort when safety is a lot more important.
  25. I've been buying fishing tackle since the 1960s. I don't even want to think about how much I have spent.
