  1. Nothing stops the bait monkey like having the wife with you.
  2. Hello and welcome back to the forum.
  3. I got what I needed for my lawn equipment today. The wife and I were out doing several things we needed to do. I didn't want to leave her sitting in the truck while I was tackle shopping so I didn't even try to get in the tackle shop.
  4. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  5. I have a large tackle box filled with crankbaits. They run anywhere from 1' to around 12' deep. I have some that run deeper but I rarely take them with me for the places I fish. Doesn't matter how deep it runs or if it is a lipless they all get thrown on the same rod.
  6. Welcome to the club. I am doing the same thing. Right now I am trying to find some new batteries for my cordless drills so I can get some of it finished.
  7. Now I'm starting to worry. I found out today I'm out of some stuff I need for my weed eater and blower. The problem is where I get this stuff is right by our local tackle shop. The trick will be to get what I need and not walk to doors down to the tackle shop. I never new the bait monkey messed with lawn equipment.
  8. Had a low of 32 degrees here this morning. I was hoping to get a couple of more trips in but now they say we have a bunch of rain coming starting tomorrow. Guess I'll think about winterizing and putting my boat to bed for the winter.
  9. Thank you. It is not brand new. It is a 2019 model F 150. If you and @T-Billy want to get together and buy me a new boat to pull that will be fine. Since I'm sure that won't happen my old 1998 Bass Tracker will have to look good behind the truck. LOL
  10. I agree with @riverat. I like the Stan Sloane short arm aggravator spinner bait. I have several of the originals with Colorado blades on them. I don't think I have ever tried one with a single willow leaf blade on it.
  11. That won't happen. I just bought a truck about six weeks ago. That has me far enough in debt right now.
  12. I'm doing pretty good at ignoring the bait monkey. I can't even remember the last time is was in a tackle shop. I don't even check stuff out online much right now. I have walked through the fishing department at Wal Mart but they didn't have anything I didn't already have. Home depot didn't have what I needed in stock. I may go to Lowes again tomorrow and spend some more fishing money on hardware.
  13. The bait monkey hasn't been around for a while and any injections it might have given me have worn off. I had some money put back for my fishing fund. I took some of it and went to Lowes today and bought some stuff I needed to do some work around the house. So take that bait monkey. You have been defeated.
  14. I voted for the jig. I have never tried big swim baits or glide baits. I don't fish jigs as much as the other baits is the reason I picked them.
  15. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  16. The way the fish have been biting for me I think they have gone on a starvation diet.
  17. I always prefer to use my baitcasters as much as possible. I usually have 4 or 5 baitcasters and 2 spinning setups with me when I go fishing. I won't get the spinning setups out until nothing else is working and I have to try finesse tactics to catch a fish.
  18. I peg my sinker no matter what type of soft plastic I am fishing. I get hung up a lot less with it pegged. I like to use the T stops that you pull through the sinker and trim off both ends.
  19. I have some Zoom Super Speed Craws in scuppernong royal color. It is brown with blue flakes in it. They have worked well for me but this color isn't even being produced at this time.
  20. I had been fishing a lot of years before I started using jigs. I still don't use them as much as I should. Sorry to say I have never tried a pork trailer.
  21. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  22. What happens when you play a country music record backwards? You get your wife, dog, and your truck back.
  23. I like the chrome/nickel blades. I have caught a few fish on baits with painted blades. I have had good luck with chrome and gold combo blades. I don't think I have any that only have gold blades on them. I have one that is supposed to be good for dirty water. It has a large gold Indiana blade and a smaller red Colorado blade with a chartreuse/white skirt. I can't even get a fish to look at that one.
  24. I decided to start a thread along with the one @Munkin has going. Many of us have changed out blades on spinnerbaits. For years I always had spinnerbaits with hammered double Colorado blades. I always thought hammered were better than the plain smooth ones, but I had good days with both types. My question is do you prefer plain or hammered type blades? Any conditions where you prefer one over the other?
