  1. @DaubsNU1 has drank one more cup of coffee than I have. Never tried it or wanted to try it.
  2. Fished with them when I was a kid growing up. It was always cast and crank. We never knew about fishing it like a jerk bait. I was fishing with spincast gear since I couldn't afford a baitcaster yet. I'm sure I caught fish with them but I seemed to have better luck with the Countdown Rapala. Maybe I need to try them again.

  5. Once the main map of the United States come up I click on the map in approximate area where I live. That brings up a map of several counties around here. The rivers and lakes tab is one of several headings right above the map. It may be a different setup in your area and not have it. I hope you can find and get it to work for you.
  6. I should have explained it a little better. Go to http://weather.gov. Then click on the map in your area. Click on the rivers and lakes tab. I wish there was away to find what the water temp is and how much it has changed in the past few days.
  7. I had never heard of these. Now for my stupid question. As thin as this bait appears to be why wouldn't an offset shank round hook be a better choice than an EWG hook?
  8. For treble hooks I like the short EWG hooks on crankbaits. I do use round bend on suspending jerk baits. Short EWG hooks tend to get hung up on the bottom a lot less than round bend hooks.

  10. You can also go to the National Weather Service. Click on the map in your area. Then click on the rivers and lake tab. If it has a gauge being monitored by the weather service it will bring up the information.
  11. Like @InfantryMP I would recommend a pre paid cell phone. I have Tracfone and only have to buy a $20.00 card every three months. Any time you don't use you carry over until it is used. They also double your minutes on the card you get.
  12. I try to keep a slight bow in my line with T rigs. I've had fish hit and let go if they felt too much resistance when they hit.
  13. I fish with the Zoom Ol Monsters and rig them on a 5/0 EWG hook. When I fish with the Mag II worms I use a 5/0 offset shank round bend hook.
  14. Hope your not in violation of the child labor laws.
  15. I cleaned and put U40 sealer on my rods this past winter. First time I had ever done this. I did have to put some wood filler on the handles as they were getting in pretty bad shape. I used Magic Eraser sponges to clean them. Some of my rods are over 20 years old. I will definitely put U40 on any new rods I buy.

  19. My Dad was a smoker for a lot of years before he quit. My Mom never did smoke. I started smoking when I was 15 or 16. I smoked for about 50 years. This coming Thursday will be three years to the day I smoked my last cigarette. I smoked the last one on Saturday morning. My left knee was hurting really bad so I ended up going to the ER. My knee was infected and required surgery to open it up and clean it out. Spent three days in the hospital. When I went home I never bought any more. I knew I needed to quit from some of the test results my doctor was giving me. I am glad I quit. I'm happy I'm not wasting money on them anymore. My wife is happy and she says I didn't get in to bad moods or cause problems from the withdrawal. If you smoke all I can say is please quit. It will help you more than you know.

  22. Go to the Tacklemaking forum. Then click on the show off your work thread. You will see there are many very talented people on here at painting and making lures. May be one of them will let you know if they do work for others.

  25. We are having a wetter and cooler than normal summer so far. Only had two 90 degree days so far. Got a couple more days rain coming up and then the heat cranks back up to 90 or above next week.
