  4. Big game 8lb mono...its good enough for me never a issue ...8 will fit a penn 713z or 3000 size spinning reel and a 4600 size abu ...the reels i use most 90% of the time ...i may move up to 12 if it gets rocky or woody

  10. Only disadvantage to a spinning reel is line twist ...figure that part out which is easy its a tool like a baitcaster ..think of a spinning reel as a 16 oz hammer compared to a 20 oz framing hammer they both work ...just slightly different

They sell them cheaper cause they got contacts.....i bought 2 ALX NIB for 90 each last yr they were 250.... the guy had 20 of each rh and lh and difff ratios im sure he paid only 50 for each buying that many and making at least a 30$ profit ..its all about who u know .im not a businessman but id assume id call all small places nationwide ask if they have any left over reels new in box and make a deal for all and mark up each one 50 ....
  14. What catt said ....it boils down to comfort low pros really do it for me.more so since i had a stroke and it messed up my round reel game .i can still cast with round reels but the weight is a glitch now.i bought 4 new abu low profiles and put them on my pistol grips and can cast all day and more accurate also.
  15. Imo collector reels and user reels are way diff market ...shimano makes great reels but its easier to find parts for a curado b series then it is a e series ...daiwa same thing .swedish abus nib are collector stuff if they are limited editions.parts inside are same as they are 40 yrs ago depending on model ..made in Korea or Japan is a major ...
  16. I have 3.8 and i bought a 8.0 reel at a great price .anyhow i dont use my gear ratio to pull the fish in any how i still do it the same as i was taught when i was younger the rod does the work the reel picks up the slack line nkn moving reel at this point the drag is doin its job..more so in a spinning Reel
