- Minn Kota Stomp Switch (Talon/Raptor) - Terrible reviews, do they work?
Holy cow - I didn't even notice that when you were here, Sean. And here I though my 10 EEE's were flippers.- Must read for bank anglers … will no doubt increase your catches this summer
That pretty much describes 90%+ of the bank fishing in my area. Short lengths of shore with limited casting area that's either dominated by boats passing by (channels) or massive weed growth. While I have had some success bank fishing, most of the banks are filled with panfisher-people trying to fill their buckets.- Size of Backing-Spinning Reels
I still use the Cajun 6# on my 3000 spinner top-loaded with 20# 832- What a pain in the gas
That's my wife - while we did do 'camping' once a year for quite a while, it was more 'glamping'. Pop-up with two queen-size beds, heat, etc. We'd cook alfredo from scratch and have rib-eyes with it. Her idea of 'roughing it' is a hotel that doesn't have room service. Back when I had the runabout - I'd toss my tent and few things under the bow, fish all day, camp overnight on Wawatosa (Boy Scout) Island on Tonka...then pick up the fishing the next morning. For me - what I can carry on my back is plenty to go camping with.- Stren original
It still sells, people still swear by it. Where'd you hear this? This one of those Twitter blips, Instagram plops or even a Tumblr toss-out?- What am I missing???? lol

Personally - I prefer to have the backing either of smaller diameter, or pretty close to the diameter of the main line...reduces the chances of under-cutting the backing with the mainline (some of the mainline getting buried under the backing) - ya, that's a thing.- Size of Backing-Spinning Reels
Since I usually use lighter main-line for spinning - I do the same with the backing line BC - 10# Big Game for backing Spin - 6# Zebco Cajun for backing (1850yds for $6.50 at Fleet Farm)- Looking for precise scale
This is the one I have - .5gm-3000gm (smidge over 1/64 (1.12/64) to 105.26oz) I used a few of the calibrated weights from a balance scale a friend has - 1gm, 5gm, 20gm and 50gm all came up right on the money. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L92PSMP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1- What a pain in the gas
Thank you and the others being out there to try and control the crazies.- Joining the 'real' boat crowd
That was the plan - have some 'washed' sand set aside for it already.- First boat. Sub-1k. SoCal
This is what I got for $700 here in MN 50 year old, 14' Alumacraft. Notice - no motor. For another $750 - I got this 50 year old, rebuilt 25HP electric start. To see what I've done to the boat so far, check my sig-line...by the time I'm done converting it, it's gonna run about $3500 all total.- Joining the 'real' boat crowd
Got the 'hard' parts of the TM bracket done. Now I just need to bolt it to the TM deck, bolt the 'platform' to the bracket and bolt the TM base to the platform. I'm using all 1/8" aluminum - 2"x2" angle for the base, 3/4"x3/4" for the 'platform' support arms and plate for the risers and 'platform' itself...yes, the front is shorter than the back because the prow is higher than the gunwales at the rear, so the bracket had to be taller in the rear to make the TM level. While the bracket supports the lion's share of the weight, the very front of the TM base rests on the bow cap. I also filled all the old holes in the bow cap and got one coat of aluminum paint on it to make it look 'new'. Second coat will be tomorrow.- What line would be good for these lures?
8#-10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid would be my pick for all that.- you fishing this holiday weekend?
Never go on any weekend - the crazies are on the water then. Plus I still have work to do on the F-9 before it's ready to get wet.- What a pain in the gas
Ya, wife and I use to go to a camping gather over Memorial weekend - leave Wed, come back Tues. Then she became partially disabled - on SSDI. With her on disability - our income took a dramatic down-turn so we couldn't afford to pay someone to watch over her so I could at least go. So the last one we went to was 2006 - so this weekend will make it 16 years actually.- What a pain in the gas
I don't fish anywhere but close to home What's this unknown thing called vacation? (I haven't been on a vacation in over 15 years)- Circuit breaker on trolling motor battery
Reason I installed breakers on the F-9 - manually tripping them means they function as my cut-off switches as well. With a fuse, I'd have to install another component in the chain.- Inflatable Life Jacket
And there's Lynn's trim PFD and Andy's bright colored one again. In the canoe, I had a standard PFD I wore all the time. For the F-9 - I got one of these last fall. I'm also going to be retro-fitting an ECOS to the old Evinrude...it's actually not that hard to do.- Best o ring size for wacky rigging a 5inch senko?
Ya - maybe next year I'll 'upgrade' to the VMC Crossovers...- Best o ring size for wacky rigging a 5inch senko?
Take one of the o-rings with you to the hardware store - get a bunch of the next size up for a lot less than the 'dedicated' wacky rings.- Post a photo a day!
And you didn't go for a swim?- What is your favorite braid
Seaguar Smackdown when I can afford it Sufix 832 otherwise.- Bear problem.
Issue with that - half the problems I have, if I cured them myself...I'd end up in jail. - Minn Kota Stomp Switch (Talon/Raptor) - Terrible reviews, do they work?
