  1. Largest compartment they list is a 1"x4" - fit maybe a single medium jerkbait in that. I have 6 jerkbaits that are all longer than 4" - so none of them would fit. This is a craft-box, not a tackle box.
  2. I have my grand-uncle JW's last service cap - and a parchment copy of this framed. https://valor.militarytimes.com/hero/308744
  3. 4. When BPS bought Cabelas, a lot of Cabelas items were renamed...this is probably the same battery with a different label. Neither makes their own batteries, they buy them from manufacturers and slap their own label on them. Use the reviews from the Cabelas batteries. If you can afford them - go with the Optimas. I'm running a 'West Marine' (made by East Penn) battery in my canoe for the TM and electronics...2+ years into a 1 year warranty and it's still performing like new.
  5. I did a little poking around online - group 31s seem to be 75-85lbs for the most part. Optimas come in 'light' at around 60 for a blue top.
  6. Ya, I took a gander at the NADA prices - with a 50hp and single-axle trailer...average retail is $3580 for my neck of the woods - prices do vary based on where you are.
  7. NADA is your best bet to get a fair market price. https://www.nadaguides.com/Boats
  8. I stick with a MH/F for jigs as well...also do a double hook-set - feel a tap, set the hook, if it feels like a fish, set again.
  9. Mepps in-line spinners in size #0-#2 are always a good bet Beetle Spins are another good option.
  10. I'm a Yo-Zuri Hybrid fan-boy. Have 4# on my UL rig and 10# on my MH/M (12# on a pair of BC rigs as well). With KVD, I've had no issues with it on my spinners...and testing shows that the breaking strength is actually more than the rating. I'm actually considering putting it on more of my rigs.
  11. That's been my go-to place the last couple months. Usually have the order in hand within 3-4 days.
  12. When I pack up the canoe to store it for winter - the battery comes out and goes into the basement. I top off the charge then just let it sit for the 5 months. When spring comes around, back on the charger it goes. A good battery won't drain off in a few months of sitting with nothing connected to it.
  13. Oh I know that feeling.
  14. @Delaware Valley Tackle - Mike does reel repair. Toss him a PM or click on the link on the right side-bar.
  15. Heck, I remember using those on lakes back as a teen - 45 or so years ago.
  16. Pflueger President-25 on a Dobyns Fury 702SF - 8# Suffix Elite.

With the wife being partially disabled - I'm the cook and chief bottle-washer in our house. Most times it's basic meals but occasionally I'll jazz things up a bit.
  18. Replace salmonid, salmon and steelhead with walleye, northern and musky in that and you've described Minnesota. (smh)
  19. It takes patience, young padawan. You can't force it, you have to tease it out. Last time I had a deep dig-in backlash...I set the rod aside for the day, then spent over an hour at home clearing it. Make sure there's good tension on the line when spooling it up - and I re-tension mine (pull it out to the connection to the backing and then reel it back in) every few trips. I've used down to 20# on my Pflueger President and rarely have a bad backlash.
  20. I suggested 6061 as it's more available - at least here - to general customers. My local supplier only carries 6063 and 6061...doesn't even have 2024 or 7075 - which yes are even stronger.
  21. Home Depot usually sells 6063 alloy aluminum. For building some kind of support structure, you want 6061 alloy. Check around - there might be a metal seller near you that carries what you need.
  22. I like a little more compact bag - which is why I went with the Plymor. 100 ea 6x4 bags, 4mil thick, offset tops - $11. Label maker lets me label the top edge. Ziploc freezer bags are 2.7mil thick - so these are even more durable. They come in so many different sizes that you can pretty much custom-fit them for whatever plastics you got if you wanted.

There's lots of output anyway...might not be highest quality though.

He just wants to know where he can film his exploits without the vid being removed.
