Fishing courtesy....
I think going to a spot because another guy is winning all the tournaments on that spot violates the unwritten rule of tournament fishing that is "Find your own fish." If he used his skills to find the spot and you follow him to the spot you are stealing his spot regardless of how far apart you stay from him. 90% of fishing is finding the fish.

2020 football
High school football started here last night with most week 1 games tonight. It’s gonna take a lot to stop football in the south.

What you get for and outboard mechanic today.
That’s pretty bad. I’m certainly not a mechanic and don’t attempt anything more complicated than an oil change but I learned the difference between a two stroke and a four stroke when I was a kid doing 4H.

You can only use one fishing line type all your life...
The OP's question is a multiple choice question. All three lines have their place. I've done every kind if fishing I do with mono at some point in my life and I could do it again if necessary. So my answer is (B) mono.

Puls width modulator fish finder interference?
I guess what I'm really trying to say is I think the PWM is causing interference like some trolling motors do. I would try to fix it the same way. I think the interference is coming through the power cables not through the air so I don't think a faraday cage would help. If you have an extra battery you could test this very quickly.

Puls width modulator fish finder interference?
You hear a lot of people say that having a fish finder and trolling motor on the same battery causes interference and this is almost always the cause of interference. However, I ran multiple fish finders on the same battery as my trolling motor for years on my first boat without ever having an interference problem. I think it depends on the trolling motor. I've never had the problem you are experiencing but I would be willing to bet that the solutions that fix trolling motor interference will solve the problem. I would try separate batteries if you have an extra. Many people fix interference by properly grounding the trolling motor. Doing the same with PWM might fix it.

Puls width modulator fish finder interference?
Is your fish finder and trolling motor connected to the same battery or to a battery connected to the same onboard charger?

Loved this video...
This kid's fishing a swim jig and he not even using a swim jig rod and he's not even swimming the swim jig. The rod also seems tip heavy. He shouldn't be catching 8 pounders with that equipment. Someone needs to teach him just how hard bass fishing really is. ?

I pilot compatible fish finder
You need I-Pilot Link to control the TM from the fish finder. Regular I-Pilot (not I-Pilot Link) can only be controlled with the remote.

Loved this video...
That’s awesome. I can’t stop watching it.

Sonar depth reading in/out from ultrex
I had problems with mine getting disconnected. There's not a lot of threads on the connector. Just a few turns and it would come loose. I never had it go in and out like you're describing so you may have a different issue. Like most problems in life I was able to fix it with a little duct tape.

Lure color experience
I’ll mention another explanation that I always bring up because no one else ever mentions it. Luck Put a blue cap on and flip a coin ten time. Now put a red cap on and flip the same coin ten times. If there’s a difference in the number of times the coin lands on heads is it because of the color of your cap? Same person flipping the coin, same coin, it must be the cap since that’s the only thing that changed... right?

Drag settings
I set my drag with a spring scale. I usually set it to start slipping at 1/3 of the line test. If I'm using braid then I set it to protect my rod which is roughly 1/3 the max line rating on the rod although it varies somewhat with the rod I'm using. I've found that using the "best guess" method works great 99.9% of the time. That other 0.1% are the "fish of a lifetime" that I always try to be prepared for.

Thermocline in a TVA reservoir?
I've never seen a thermocline in or near the channel on Kentucky Lake. I can't say that I look for one very often since I've concluded that they don't exist. I agree with @TnRiver46 on catfish. I've caught them in some very deep water in the hottest part of the summer. I don't think they're suspending at 20ft and then diving down to 60ft for a quick meal.

Turning the page
Tom, I wish I had the words to truly express the sympathy I feel for you. Those of us that love fishing understand the bond it can build between generations and the special memories that go with it. You are in my prayers.

What type of reel is this?
I don't know the model but I'm pretty sure it's made by ACME.

I have to brag again
It was a long read and I enjoyed every bit of it. Congratulations! A lot of life long memories are made on youth athletic fields.

Shelves are bare
I took inventory of my back up tackle supply in the basement. If this pandemic is not over by 2038, I'm in big trouble.

Low voltage on Ultrex
Yes that is correct. What type of charger are you using?
-
Low voltage on Ultrex
Sounds like the problem is in the back of the boat. Check the voltage on each battery independently. If one is low it could be a bad battery or something is wrong with one bank on your charger. It they’re all low then I would charge them again and if they’re still low then you have a bad charger.

The Next Big Thing
I think for the next few years we will see continued improvement in the technologies like 360 and Livescope that let you look out will fishing. I think we will see something that merges the best of both technologies. The ability to see all around you like 360 but live like Livescope should be the next big thing. Garmin's new horizontal mount for the Livescope transducer is a small step in that direction.

What are your "must haves"?
I use a lot of different lures but I think I could make it in life with just a trickworm. You can fish it weightless, weighted, fast, slow, and wacky. Cut it and you got yourself a slider worm. Cut it some more and you've got a ned bait. Yep, that's my only must have bait.

Mail Order vs Local Pharmacy for Rx
Everyone should have the GoodRx app on their phone. Put in the drug and your insurance company and it will find the lowest price in your area with a coupon provided on the app. It can save you 90%. I used to work with a guy that had to take prescription liquid potassium. We're not talking about a billion dollar miracle drug, we're talking about potassium. His insurance changed and it went from $15 a month to $600. He used the GoodRx app and was able to get it for $40 a month.
