  1. That’s a amazing we good for you. Can you imagine maybe the best week of your life and just another week for the guide.
  2. I understand that. I was so looking forward to the fall bite and it has been the least productive time on the water for me all season.
  3. I reeled in about a two pounder with a treble just sitting on the back side of the gill on the outside not actually hooked at all. I’ve also had many a lure fall right off as soon as I grab the fish, I’m sure that’s common. Tells me I need to work on my hookset.
  4. I can understand it’s a possibility it could fail. But like I said I can hold the lure and wrap the line around my other hand and pull as hard as I can with no troubles the average fish I’m gonna catch is not gonna pull that hard on it. I also understand the hookset is different but I don’t think it’s likely to fail. I’ve pulled tree branches down on bad casts lol.
  5. No I’m sorry I didn’t say that clearly. I can’t seem to rig a soft plastic without it twisting up my line. When I go at night I have a couple swivels rigged to a leader and hook. So if I want I can just pop that on the snap swivel that’s already on my line for changing over baits. Like I said I’m walking the bank with just one or two rods in the dark it just makes it a little easier. The reason I’m using snap swivels is just because there easy to find at local stores. That’s all no major reason for them in particular.
  6. @scott f I believe they help keep your line from twisting. I use the interlocking snaps you can get them in 10-20-40 pound with ball bearing. The 20/30 pound ones are not to big and I can wrap it around both hands amp really pull on it. After I change out my bait I give the part we’re the L hooks on a little pinch and it’s pretty secure. I’m not saying they don’t fail, but sure makes night fishing with crank type baits allot easier.
  7. I’ve noticed on several threads here that most people don’t like them. I use them because I only have two set ups and sometimes only bring one to fish the bank. They make switching out my baits allot easier since I usually only have time to go in the dark, and to re tie braid in the dark with sausage fingers a bunch of times is no fun to say the least. I don’t think I’ve ever had a problem because of them. Just wondering why everyone dislikes them so much. I do mostly use them at night only.
  8. Got nothing, only had two hours. Tried some topwater and a kietec with a underspin.
  9. Gonna head out in a few. It has rained all day and night since Friday night and has now let up to a light mist. Not expecting much but my days on the water are numbered now so gonna give it a shot. Hopefully I can add a few pics to this post this afternoon.
  10. That’s interesting, if you don’t mind me asking what does that go for.
  11. Don’t get me wrong retention ponds are a blast but when his beloved senco bite dies off he’s gonna he bumming. Just laugh it off there’s always gonna be one off those guys in the room.
  12. I’d be devastated I only have two setups one casting one spinning. I don’t have enough gear to be loosing it yet.
  13. I e only caught fish on a chatterbait at a lake up north from me. I’ve never had a bite at any local ponds or lakes I’ve tried. So weird.
  14. They only had one right hand it was missing the soool tension knob so I didn’t price check it. I was only gonna grab it if it was $49. It’s not the set up I really wanted but for that I would of grabbed it.
  15. I guess I’m gonna hit dicks on my way to work. I could really use another setup, if I can grab it for $49 that would be great.
  16. That’s awesome you got it back. I just watched a you tube vid today were a guy was wading and tossed his rod to grab a big fish. Then explained the bumper type thing he had on the but of his rod. It floated, I don’t know much about it but it might be good for guys In yaks or small boats were dropping your rod over is a real possibility. Anyway I don’t know much about it this post just reminded me of it. Just throwing it out there for someone it might help.
  17. That sounds great. That’s my kind of day lots of action. I don’t mind if their on the smaller side. 30 1-2 pounders is quite a day.
  18. I would grab some ultra light gear and have at it. It might be a ton of fun no matter what kind of fish they are.
  19. I’ve really only been there three times I think. So it’s all still new to me, I like to touch and look at things so I would rather go to the store even if it’s a few more bucks. Most off the stuff I see seems to be the same price as online prices. Buying tackle in general is still new to me so it’s allot of fun to go through a store like that.
  20. It’s been slow lately but not as bad as your having it.
  21. I just checked them out recently at the store, seems like a good rod for the money. If I had a extra reel laying around I would try it or just wanted to add a spare rod without spending allot I don’t see we’re you could go wrong.

Nice fish man, lots of pb’s daily now popping up. I’m pretty jealous I’ve gotta figure it out and hit it harder.
  23. Not sure how great they are but one of my friends that never really fished before bought the lews American hero combo at dick’s for $30. He said he likes it, it’s a medium power and action. Should be fine for beginners to start fishing. I did read you want to replace the line that comes with them though.
  24. That’s a nice one
  25. I think the weather has been part of the problem here, nothing stable about it. Over the past couple weeks we have had one day 80 and the next like 57 then hard cold rain then 60 out then 42 the next morning. All with a mixture of real windy or blue bird skies. Can’t get more then two days with the temps within like 8 degrees of each other. I’m not trying to make excuses I’m just a bank fisherman and certainly no pro but it’s not making it easy for me to find or catch them. Wanted to add when I do catch them, they certainly seem to be fattening up so they are feeding just not we’re I can reach them I guess.
