I feel like me and Mr. Plummer would have made great friends. Same mindset
  3. The house next to me is for sell. I pray every night that another fellow fisherman moves in. Lucky you
  4. Wow... CaptainPhil got a long ways to go then ?
  5. That dorsal fin should make for an easy ID...having said that I have no idea who made it.
  6. They work just as good on bass as the day they were released. But you will have a hard time selling that notion to the current bass fisherman.
  7. Loud and Proud live bait user right here!
  8. I think in the older days they seemed to either not have the knowledge of what they had due to lack of resources or would bargain with you just to get a little more than they payed before the interested customer left the store. But these days a couple clicks and they know EXACTLY what they have and its value. Most also have EBAY accounts they run on the side that assure they will get at least ebay market value. Case in point the ones down here don't bargain anymore and deals are few and very far between.
  9. Spincast are making a strong comeback...and surprisingly in the high end game. Expect to see many more in the near future.
  10. Man thats exactly what I have been looking for for a while!! No luck down here at the yard sales / antique stores though
  11. You could go to Michaels or any hobby shop and get Createx paint...its just $3. Paint bait and then hit it with a hair dryer when done to cure the paint. Will last longer than markers and is what is regularly used for lure painting.
  12. All my reels are now on assorted basic IM6 rods. Don't think any of my rods exceed the value of my reels. (anymore)
  13. Maybe if you color the wire red it will give the impression to the bass that the bait is wounded and there is a steady stream of blood flowing vertically from wounded bait making for an easy meal. ....or maybe not. Probably not.
  14. I made an agreement with myself couple months ago. Give away all my tackle I have collected that I do not use EXCEPT for hardbaits. I am allowing myself to collect hardbaits. Other than those I just gave away nearly everything except for 5 combo's and 2 tackle boxes.
  15. Hey hey now some of us are trying to make a living here catching fisherman! The more realistic and newer the bait is, the more fish you will catch...period.
  16. Well I humbly disagree with that. There is a lot of newness out there...just got dig a little.
  17. The graphite used today is much better than the plastic utilized back in the days as we transitioned away from all metal reels. The carbon frames and sideplates consist of a 30/70 ratio carbon nylon blend and are very strong. I personally have never had any issues with the current graphite frame reels against 1 piece aluminum reels. Frame flex..reel foot breaking etc...never personally have had issues with these.
  18. I'm watching this video and I see Hank Parker is saying this is "new" and will "help you catch more fish", but there literally is nothing new about this at all? This minnow and jig head combination has been around for 50+ years now.
  19. you have good taste sir
  20. How have those held up for you?

I have never found Ebay good for purchasing "brand new" items. While there may be a couple dollars savings against a big box....the shipping cost makes it a wash. Now I do use Ebay religiously to buy used/vintage fishing stuff.
  22. Sadly I have to agree with most of the above. I always bring an extra bag with me fishing to clean up after other fisherman. All I can do is encourage my kids and others to be more respectful while enjoying the sport.
  23. I'm curious...what are the consequences if caught fishing?
  24. I call that day...Live Bait Day.
