Okay. The two topics related to the notifications glitch, New Scale and Favorite Zoom Bait, have disappeared also.

Thank you MN Fisher! I was able to open the notification from you, ones from Monday are still unavailable.
  3. Beginning yesterday afternoon I started having problems with the Notifications area. I was able to access it and view replies until late afternoon. Then I started getting notified that: You do not have permission to view this content. Error Code 2F173/F. This happened on notifications I had previously accessed and appears to only affect those for Monday. I was able to open them for Sunday. I sent a message and got a response that I should check my settings, clear the cache, and history. I did this and the problem persists. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks....Joe
  4. Welcome. Not a yaker but a friend of mine used to fish Lake Hennessy from a kayak. Said he did really good.

Thanks Kent, but I’ll stick with the 031. I do have packs of those.

I do have the 031. Will give that one a try before getting the 239. Thanks!

Was wondering if anyone has had success using this color as a baitfish imitator? It’s described as blue pearl w/lg. black & hologram flake. Would use it on a small jig head or as a spinnerbait trailer.
  8. Our club may be fishing New Melones in mid November if our original lake, Berryessa, is not open due to all the recent fires. Looking for advise on Fall baits and colors. Any help would be appreciated! Joe
  9. I use braid with flouro leader on all my spinning gear. I usually use a 1/4 oz weight on my drop shot setup, but I’m going to be fishing in 20+ fow in an upcoming club tourney The problem with that is the bowing and floating properties associated with braid affecting the sink rate of the lure. Would stepping up to a 3/8-1/2 oz weight help with this?
  10. Don’t make them myself, but the color coding is a good idea!
  11. Sorry to resurrect this thread. I agree that the Gammy twist lock is funky, it comes loose very easily. But the eyes on both hooks appear to be similar. Did you mean that Gammy twist lock was the reason for the bait not being straight? Would switching them out to Owner CPS fix the problem?
  12. This sounds right. Beavers build domed structures with entry below water level. Could be a muskrat. Don’t know about Nutria, but have heard they can get quite large.
  13. I have MBR784C IMX from the same generation as the GLX you refer to. It is listed as a H, but it is more of a MH. I use it for jigs and worms mostly, but will also use it for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and heavier underspins/keel weighted swim baits.
  14. Like Russ E and Bankc said. Was fishing a Senko on a weighted wacky with braid and a short (2-4’) flouro leader yesterday. When it hit submerged vegetation on a tight line I’d get a pronounced tick tick like bluegill were hitting the lure. I don’t know how many times I swung on that until I realized what was happening! When it eventually hung up and I pulled it free the bass slammed it, no doubt about it then.
  15. My experience with toads and frogs is very limited, just recently started getting into it. I’ve used this rod with a 6:1 reel for fishing toads on keel weighted hooks, 1/8 oz Owner Beast 4/0 or a Gamakatsu equivalent. I’ve stuck to keel weighted hooks because they make it easier for me to cast, but I can only fish fairly open water with sparse vegetation with them. The toads I’ve used are Rage and Horny toads. Would this rod cast a hollow bodied frog as well? Say, Booyah Pad Crashers in 1/2 oz? Thanks....Joe
  16. Both the same length. The magnum has a thicker body.
  17. Would like some clarification on what these numbers represent when picking a treble hook. I’ve looked a dozens of different brands and each has it’s own way of describing the specs. Does the 1X represent one times shorter than standard and the 2X represent two times stronger than standard? Assuming that a stronger hook would weigh more, how heavy can you go without affecting the action of any crank or jerk bait you replace trebles on?
  18. Which of these two do you guys prefer on a 3/8 oz chatterbait and on a 1/2 oz swim jig? What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks....Joe

  20. I just use the weight keeper. When transporting or stowing the rod I bury the hook point in the nose of the bait and take a couple of twists of the line around a guide. Reduces tangling.
  21. Hair tie is a great idea! Though of rubber bands, zip ties, and twist locks; and never thought of the obvious! No more buying weight keepers for me! Thanks!
  22. They have Velcro and other elastic rings that you put on the handle to secure the weight. Check for them online.
  23. A friend of mine has a 5 acre pond chock full of crappie. They’ve caught 5 gallon bucketfuls of them in a short period of time. The bass in the pond are healthy, but never over 2#. This has been the case for years. I’m convinced the crappie are detrimental to the bass population.
  24. Frenzy. Not a screw head though.
