  1. For those of us that wear Cocoon fit over sunglasses. BUY ONE GET ONE FREE! Customer Service Code: BOGO24 Offer Expires 5/31/2024
  2. I use the gold one for redfish around the Crystal River with no trailer. They knock the crap out of it. Never used one for bass.
  3. As I'm not able to go fishing I live vicariously through you, thanks.
  4. 4.5. Have a 16' tin bass boat with a 7" on the bow and a 9" on the console with side finder. Usually carry 6-8 rods with a foot controlled trolling motor. On the kayak I carry one rod and a pack of worms with a few hooks and sinkers.
  5. We have an older Ford Ranger for my kayak fishing. Throw the kayak in the bed and rods in the cab or the bed. It's an extended cab so the rods fit. I can also tow my 16' tin boat with it.
  6. I keep an Alabama bass or two every couple of weeks for dinner that night or the next. My wife sautees the filets in butter and they're delicious.
  7. This is going to take some time but it works. Take the reel apart and clean it thoroughly leaving it dry. Remove the level wind gear, put some toothpaste on the clean gears and use a drill motor to spin the handle. Take it apart, clean, grease, oil and put it back together, not forgetting the level wind gear.
  8. For the west coast guys Kencor made noodle rods. I used to tape a Mitchell 308 to an old fly rod with mono sewing thread, about 1 lb test, line for crappie usually with a micro jig that Tom talked about. That was the original noodle rod.
  9. Why not? 3/16 or 1/4” aluminum plate.
  10. I live near the north end and still don’t fish on weekends. Check out fcp fishing.
  11. Squirt some contact cleaner in the switch inside the handle. Three screws under the cover.
  12. Remove the Talon and try it. Do you have lead acid or lithium batteries for the trolling motor?
  13. Find another shop. The weight of your boat fully loaded and where the weight is located are also factors in determining the right prop. I have a stainless prop on my tin boat with a 50 and got very little speed increase and my hole shot is good. You have to have a tach and know your maximum rpm to properly dial in a prop.
  14. A 19” pitch prop will push your boat 19” through the water with no slip. If you want top speed select a prop that will turn the maximum rpm of your engine at WOT. The best thing is to consult a good prop shop for the right one for your boat. The pitch isn’t the only thing that will make your boat perform at its best.
  15. A lot of the bass I catch in FL have them.
  16. I use a fish shaped one with chains. I spoon fish in brush piles and get them out about 70% of the time.
  17. You’re my hero.
  18. Yes a couple of years ago. Netted it, cut the line and released it.
  19. A friend recommended a blank for a bluegill rod and I built one. 6' ultra light moderate action. I used it in FL for the past couple of months with a 1/32 oz beetle spin and caught dozens of bluegills and a few bass with it. Fun rod.
  20. Like others have said they're tools to catch fish, just like my boat and kayaks. I use everything I have and it's a lot.
  21. In the morning, when I fish during the summer, it's cooler than central FL plus the rivers are always pleasant. When it gets too hot I can fall out of the kayak or go for a swim in the lake.
  22. White or pearl are the only color I use.
  23. Florida gets awfully hot in the summer and SC gets too cold for me in winter. I'm in central FL now and it's been too hot to fish after about noon. We're returning to N GA tomorrow for the summer, Lake Lanier and the GA rivers.
