  1. Rally! My youth was spent racing friends up and down dirts roads at very dangerous speeds mostly sideways. Always liked rally racing.
  2. Thank you. Fence looks great. Merry Christmas.
  3. I fish the SLX heavy and from fishing it, I'd think the MH wouldn't drive the big single hook to my liking.
  4. Man that's rough. I'll be thinking about you while at the lake tomorrow. ? Not kidding. Gotta go, it's court ordered.?
  5. I took my girlfriend fishing late one night on a pitch black pond and told her I'd put her on a big fish. After roughly two hours of me paddling us around she hooked and caught her PB LM of 6lb. I married her a few years later and truly feel that bass helped. She's a tractor riding, boat & trailer wiring beast, with a Doctorate, two Masters, and will even occasionally let me ride her tractor. They say opposites attract, so with her education the chance of me being a genius is pretty low.
  6. I've come close a few times to dropping a combo. Usally happens after throwing big swimbaits for a bit and I swap to a lightweight combo.
  7. True. That's why all my big fish hit the scale. No misremembering weights.?
  8. Great fish. Congrats. 4 lb 15 ounce Spot! Excellent!
  9. I have a Hornady also and fill it with water and use actone in a small shot glass for bearings and metal gears.
  10. Wow! Almost makes me what to join Facebook. Almost. Hopefully he'll post it elsewhere.
  11. My ego is constantly bruised from my fishing trips.
  12. The bulk of our water is pumped up to the lake so it doesn't get muddy or stained. If we get lucky, maybe twice a year it'll get a bit off colored. Still had 5' of visibility yesterday. Spinnerbaits haven't produced since Spring. But I'm going to try slow rolling some heavy big Spinnerbaits Friday deep.
  13. Welcome to the forum from central Ga. Congrats on the PBs. That's a very special 1 lb 2 ounce bass your baby girl caught.
  14. Our lake also came up 2' in the past week. I also threw the the 6th Sense 9" Draw, 8" Sneaky Pete, 5.75" Pistol Pete, and 6" Bull Shad with not so much as a follow. I'll throw the Ned anytime, the Spots including big Spots love them. I love winter fishing, it separates the men from the crazies. That might not be right, but you know what I think i mean.? I'm actually looking forward to the lake getting cooler and put these fish in winter mode so I can pull out my jigging spoons and blade baits.
  15. Fished yesterday from 7a - 2p and managed 5. Air temp 35 - 55, water temp 57 and a lovely gentle 15 - 35 mph breeze made it interesting.
  16. Zero experience with SM, sadly. IMO a Spotted Bass at 4 lbs will out pull a 10 lb LM and fight you all the way through the release.
  17. I'm sure hope my 2020 truck doesn't mind being driven by man that's older, scuffed, scarred, had some parts replaced, needs more work, needs warming up to do most things, and makes strange noises at times.
  18. I was taught cursive in school but only use it to sign my name. Many times it's with a finger tip on some kid of electronic device so it looks bad no matter the effort used. I used to go through a pen a week as a A & P mechanic doing paperwork/sign offs but it was all block printing.
  19. Acquire parts diagram, watch videos if available, lay your parts out in the order you remove them, and photograph if you feel the need. I'd strongly suggest completing the teardown/cleaning/reassembly on the same day you start it, until you've completed a few reels. Tools - small screw drivers, small Cresent wrench, pick set, small needle nose, and a toothbrush(for cleaning). I clean metal/bearings in a Ultrasonic cleaner(not a must have). Grease and oils - I use Cal's and TSI 321. Or go the route I took and work on jet engines for years and you'll have the tools and a reel will seem very simple. ?
  20. Just fish. You'll adjust or start catching them again in Spring.
  21. Used to use dots and strips but have since moved to lead wire on the hook shank. It's much quicker and easier to adjust.
  22. Excellent. He's gonna be vicious with Dachshund blood. ?
  23. Good looking truck. We get 15.5 & 16 mpg. Which is exactly what my last 6.2 and 5.3's got mpg.
