I thought I had heard someone talk about an old jig that had something under the skirt to hold scent. I am wondering if anyone has an idea of how to do something like that and still be able to get a trailer on the jig also?

Every year gets tougher for me! At some point yes it will become too much and we will be moving further south. East Tennessee will most likely be as far south as I go! Right now I just stay drunk to deal with winter!! haha

A lot of the guys that are successful do a lot of repaints for people, yeah they sell there painted baits on their websites, and I am sure most of them are fish catchers. My buddy just sent in a bunch of DT series baits and other cranks he had bought for cheap prices on sale and had a guy paint a certain Strike King paint scheme on all them that works good for him in our lakes around here. This is how most of the guys doing the painting for a living make it I think from what I have heard.

Stopped in the tackle shop to get a new spinning reel, and couldn't find anyone to help me so walked around and looked for a few. Ended up leaving with a DT 10, a DT 16, and a Red Eyed Shad to go with the reel purchase. Got home and the wife says thought you were just going for the reel, I said everyone was in the stock room working on their stock and didn't want to just stand at the reel counter. She just rolled her eyes and laughed, must have been the grin on my face!! haha

yeah I throw that stuff on my 734C all the time. Was using it as my chatterbait rod till my buddy sold me his Cashion Elite chatterbait rod for a great price, the 734C will still be used for my swim jigs and spinnerbaits for sure.

Yeah I see things being short again this year, they still haven't caught up. I don't think it will be as bad as last year but still not like before all this crap. I have been trying to find a certain spinning reel here the last couple weeks and it is out of stock everywhere I look, so figure it will still be hit and miss this year.

My pick would be Santone Got 5 spinnerbaits. I am with BlueBasser, whoever wrote that isn't paying attention to their gear while fishing, never really seen a spinnerbait that doesn't have a thump.

Fish weightless soft plastics in thick stuff, drag across the top and let it fall into holes, both of my largest bass have been caught this way, something about that slow fall where most people are throwing heavy stuff!

I throw it on my Dobyns Fury 705CB rod, 10# fluoro, 7:5.1 ratio reel

I just split them up by bait type, but not by brand. I do split my cranks up medium diving and deep diving, my squarebills are split by 1.0 size and then 1.5 size. That is about as specific I get as of now! Could change at some point I am sure! haha

A Pogo Shad, which is gonna change this year! I found a couple in an old tackle box and will be throwing them this spring!
