  1. Your not going to want to run your boat in the upper Potomac, it is shallow. The lower is more your speed. If you want to fish the spoils, blue plains and the DC area your going to want to launch out of Gravely Point or Belle Haven. Basicly you need to look at what part of the Potomac your wanting to fish and then launch from any one of the marinias or public boat launchs. The way things ae looking, my buddy Drums just scored a Stratos and I'll be fishing the Aquia area shortly. Until then the occaquan resivour and a little pond hopping will have to do.
  2. Vekol, the water was slightly stained. The key is getting the hook in them. I'm throwing them on a Kistler Helium 6'9 MH matched with a Johnny Morris reel spooled with 15lbs Yozuri hybrid and i'm setting the hook "HARD". I went again this afternoon after work and caught 5 Largies and one massive bluegill on a chrt/wht Gerkin spinnerbait with double gold willow blades. It seems every place I've been, the spinnerbait has been working every time, but only with gold blades. I have thrown sliver blades with double colorado, tandem and double willow with zero results. The skirt color does not seem to matter.
  3. Andrew is correct. I was not at Royal. A couple of guys said they caught a 7.5 and 9 pounder a couple of days ago out of Royal. I will make it out there one evening with a swim bait and see whats up, the water is real dirty right now.
  4. These are the hooks I use when fishing wacky rigs. I don't miss a lot of fish or get hung up. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_58035_100010002_100000000_100010000_100-10-2
  5. Great post and fish to boot. Those are fish worth posting!
  6. My lord, that is awsome!!! Nice fish.
  7. Took a buddy out yesterday morning and this afternoon for a little pond hopping and baitcaster lessons for him. The bite is on. Swim baits and spinner baits seem to be the ticket. But my buddy took his PB (3lbs) on a tube being thrown as a follow up bait after it missed my swim bait. A lot of dinks, but 6 over 2 pounds and one just shy of 5. Spinnerbait was a Booyah 3/8 double gold willow blades with a custom skirt in blk/slvr/wht fished at a med/slow speed. The swim bait was the Luck"E"Strike bass majic in natural shad on a Zoom horny toad hook with a 5/16 weight that is customized to be crimped to the hooks shank, fished it alot slower than the spinner bait with slight twiches and the hammered it. Starting to get good.............
  8. I have a 1990 Ford Bronco with 378.000 on it. 2nd engine and 3rd trans. Thing is still ripping along.
  9. Trev, it was on that massive tube remember.
  10. Nice fish. I too stopped on the way home from work to throw the ole swimbait and caught 4, 3 of them on the small side and one pushing 4lbs. Still trying to get the feel for them, swimbaits that is. What color did you have your luck with?
  11. EEEWWW! Thank the lord I did'nt swim in it. Thanks for the heads up.

  16. Nice, is that under the 28 bridge?
  17. Well, I ran my mouth and retracted my statements. Things got out of control. Dan, you remember the fighting thing I talked to you about while we fished. Well that part of me did some talking and I am sorry to those that read it or had it dirrected at them. Dan, great to meet you. Good head on your shoulders. Nice tackle collection, I'll have to have you over sometime and check out my mini-greentop in my basement. PS., Andrew........Stop it?
