  1. If you have to go in the water then by definition it landed you
  2. Well I stand corrected. The LC designation makes it kind of a poor man's tat elite I guess? Pulled from a google AI search if anyone's interested: The Daiwa Tatula X TW 100 features an LC Concept Magforce-Z Spool. Here's a breakdown of what that means: Magforce-Z: This is Daiwa's magnetic braking system. It uses a moveable inductor rotor on the spool that adjusts braking pressure based on the spool's speed. As you cast, the rotor extends into the magnetic field to prevent backlash at high speeds. As the spool slows down, the rotor retracts to reduce braking and maximize casting distance. LC Concept: This signifies "Long Cast" and implies the spool and braking system are optimized to achieve maximum casting distance. Spool: The Tatula X TW 100 has a 34mm aluminum spool which is lightweight, contributing to easier casting and efficient braking. The Tatula 80 features an even lighter, smaller (32mm) spool, particularly beneficial for casting lighter, less aerodynamic lures. In essence, the Daiwa Tatula X's LC Concept Magforce-Z Spool combines a lightweight, precisely engineered spool with an intelligently adjusting magnetic braking system to maximize casting distance and minimize backlash for a variety of lures.
  3. Not even close imo, other than getting the magforce z brakes it seems no other features trickled down like the hyperdrive gearing or the metal housing, and why would they, something has to give to differentiate the various price points. It's probably still a nice little reel, buy it and be happy, or buy a jdm 100 for a bit less $ and be even happier.
  4. Just curious, what advantages does this have over a bladed jig? Is it more weedless than even a bladed jig?
  5. Also a 1/64 tungsten nail weight is super tiny, you might be able to bury it in a worm near the head.
  6. Bullet weights makes a 1/64oz
  7. Contrast in the context of bass fishing refers more to tonal contrast (dark and light values) and how strong it silhouettes to its surroundings. Although color contrast is a thing too, in murky water it’s less of a factor, they can only distinguish reds and greens anyhow, everything else falls on a grayscale. Also remember that every theory we postulate is generally laughed at hysterically by our little green and brown friends on a regular basis.
  8. The dropshot is definitely worth a shot, adjust leader length for vegetation and fish depth and use the lightest weight that you can effectively fish and straight fluoro line.
  9. If your setup hasn't given you issues in the past then it sounds to me like the fish are telling you they simply want something different. #occamsrazor
  10. Summer mornings I'm reaching for a toad, buzzbait, or frog. The rest of the day my go to is a 6in finesse worm flipshot rig.
  11. Started fishing speed worm style worms about two years ago, the turbo fattie from z-homosapiens is my favorite. Replaced the keitechs for me, the Florida strains like the long skinny profile much better for some reason.
  12. Sharpie my bruddah...
  13. Maybe already answered but ... tie main line to swivel, cut off above at chosen leader length, tie main line to swivel, tie on hook/lure. A little early for drinking today eh?
  14. Can confirm. The bubba/flipshot rig is my goto and in my hands 50+ percent of the time I'm on the water. The 6in fat roboworm and netbait t-mac are the 2 main lures used for this rig.
  15. Daily carry… X-zone adrenaline craw Gambler burner craw Flappin hog (knockoff) Rage bug Netbait bug D-bomb Usually 2 colors of each. The craws are jig trailers only. Too many worms to list.
  16. Ditto, with a slight revision. Edit: I actually find this helpful to do multiple times a day, specifically between different periods of the day such when morning shifts into mid-morning, etc
  17. That's pretty much what I used to do. I just thought I'd share as I find one sleeve makes rod management simpler and faster in every way.
  18. After reading this yesterday I thought I'd share what I do and made a separate thread. Hope it helps!
  19. Hey all, I just wanted to share a simple way to make transporting multiple rod and reel setups easier and more efficient. I often have to park and make one trip to the dock to meet a fishing partner or boater. Out of necessity and some trial and error, I came up with a method to bundle multiple rods together (usually 6 for me), which makes it easy to grab them one-handed, get in and out of vehicles, deploy quickly, pack up faster at the end of the trip, and eliminates the hassle of managing and storing six individual rod sleeves. I'd also recommend wrapping your line around the blank before bundling together. Note: I use all casting rods so I'm not sure if this would work with spinning rods, I joined the man club which required ditching all use of fairy wands Here’s what I do: I cut a standard rod sleeve down to about 30 inches and staple the end shut. I slip it over the rod tips and then tie all the rods together with paracord, which also holds the shortened sleeve in place by securing the reel attachment loop. Finally, I use an 18-inch Nite Ize twisty gear tie to bundle the rod handles together just behind the reels. Pics below. Hope this helps!
  20. If you're now pitching left handed with rh reels why not just stay with rh reels so you don't have to switch hands after pitching?
  21. In the mostly shallow Florida waters I fish, I’ve used a c-rig on a heavy rod, 3/4oz, 10in ol' monster worm to a bfs c-rig with 3/32oz and a 3in gyb ned senko. Forget “right” conditions and convention regarding the c-rig, it’s highly adaptable with room for creativity, and it's a co-angler/back-seaters best friend. Luv me some riggin!
  22. It's been at least a decade since I've had any in the tackle box, but I just remembered I use to use them as a swimjig trailer too.
  23. Think of it as a speed worm, rig with 1/8 to 1/4oz bullet weight and swim it, flip it, pitch it, buzz it.
  24. I was just being facetious, I know what you meant by parabolic. The rods I mentioned are definitely moderate in action.
