left or right reel handle for spinning reel?
I know for me, the most important part is I want my dominant hand to set the hook. I set the hook with the rod, not the reel.

So I went to a lake
I would love to do that and maybe I will one day but that is a hike for me. I am about in the middle of where Nox and BM are. I have the Schuylkill a little closer and it fishes ok for numbers but sizable fish are not the same as Nox or BM.

So I went to a lake
I share the same opinion as you. I only fish it on weekdays when life and work allows to avoid some of that. I switched boats a couple of years ago to one with a 20hp motor so Nockamixon and some electric only lakes have become my main lakes I prefer to visit now. Even those lakes though see a lot of traffic, you just don’t get bounced around like at BM.

So I went to a lake
Nice! A friend and I were there the other day and caught a few each, nothing to brag about but it was nice to see some fish cruising the shallows. It was still 2.5’ down at the time but once it gets to full pool senkos will crush them. After spawn, back to dragging jigs, t-rigs, and neds to stay productive.

Bank fishing with texas rigs - New video!
Great video Glenn. Odd, I’ll throw a Senko weightless but I never think of throwing a craw or beaver weightless so I tried it this evening and caught a couple. They wanted a beaver on the move, as you mentioned, like a jerk bait. Winner of the evening was with dragging a T-Rig rage craw with a 3/8 weight.

Alewife lake
Lol. Lots of rivers and streams in Pa share that “quality”. Impressive what a good nitrogen release can do though.

Alewife lake
I fish BM as well. I stop fishing there when the blooms get in full swing, I get an allergic reaction to it with red bumps on any exposed skin. Odd but I’m sure I am not the only.

Shimano SLX
I’ll second the 150mgl. I have several different Curados and SLX, DC as well in both models but my favorite of all are the 151mgl’s. Just a perfect all around reel. I do like my 71mgl just as much for finesse presentations but it’s a little higher in price. You won’t regret getting a 150mgl. You will regret wanting to replace the rest of your reels with the 150.

How to blur a background in a photo
When you let it go, a little pop up should come up with copy and share. You can copy it and then paste it anywhere, or share and save it to a file. Quick note though, this site has a size limitation on the image so the image has to be a reasonable size.

How to blur a background in a photo
Depending on the version of IOS you have, you can touch and hold on the subject of the picture, let's say it's you holding a fish and you can lift out just what you pressed. It's a pretty neat feature.

how much coffee do you drink?
One pot a day and maybe an additional 20 ounce cup if I am out and stop by WaWa. But does it count if it’s all decaf? Yep, black decaf is all I drink.

Any particular new lure you plan to use this year?
I really like bottom jig fishing so this year I bought some custom hair jigs. I’m hoping they are lousy and catch nothing! cause d**n they are pricey!

So What is "Backwards" in Your Life These Days?
I wish I had something positive to write but I don’t. I’ve worked for myself the last 20 years so my daily schedule is the same and it has remained status quo. As much as I hate to be negative, because I have “working for myself liberties” I’ve enjoyed fishing when others don’t fish but the last couple of years, every day is a Saturday on the lakes I fish. I don’t mind pressure, the wake boats and waverunners, not so much. I need everyone to get back to working full time, in person.

Strangest place you ever caught a fish
When I was a kid, there was a factory complex down the road that had what looked like a large wooden wine barrel. It was 20' in diameter and 25' high. One of the town kids heard a rumor there was fish in it so we had to try. There was! Sunnies, and you could catch them with a bare hook. The barrel was directly across the railroad tracks from a concrete landing with a large pump on it at the river's bank. The pump was used to fill the barrel, the barrel was used to store water for the fire sprinkler system for the complex and I guess fish got pumped in at times and were simply starving and would bite anything.

Knot for Straight Shank Worm Hooks ?
If there is a shank to create a snell, I always use a snell knot. A friend showed me this. Tie a snell knot to a hook with a length of line. Now tie whatever knot you use on another same style hook and a length of line. Point your index finger forward and hang the line over your finger and slowly pull on it to see if the hook catches your finger, be easy!! Don’t want to stick yourself. Compare your knot vs the snell knot. You’ll see that the snell knot catches your finger more often.

Lures
I personally don’t think you need many varieties of plastics. It amazes me how you can send the same plastic, add or subtract some weight or give a specific cadence and bang! Fish on!

Are There Times When Fish Just Don't Bite?
I fish both fresh and salt and follow all of the local Facebook groups for the areas I fish as well as dockside chats and I am always amazed at the different results reported. I truly believe you can always find a bite, sometimes it’s quicker than others and sometimes the day runs out before you find it.

Garmin Livescope Transducer Upgrade
In your situation, I think you would have a better overall experience upgrading your graph to an Ultra series for the best bang for the buck. That is however assuming you are running your 9” as your main system. I follow too much tech…and while I’ve enjoyed the LVS32 for years I just don’t see the gains worth the cost. 60-70% cost increase for 30% gain isn’t a wise decision when upgrading tech IMO. Throw in the Bait Monkey clause and all bets are off though….We all like new toys. I’m skipping this one and waiting for the next one and I assume that next one will be with an upgraded box / processing to go with it.

Setting the hook : Jigs with weedguards
Glenn made a great video a couple of years ago about hooking fish with jigs. Give it a search on YouTube or if @Glenn can provide a quick link. Once you get the technique down, you won’t miss much.

Pitching for bass deep?
Just before I called it quits for the winter I was finding smallies in about 34’ holding to big rocks in front of a dam. 3/4 ounce football jigs with a craw trailer was the winner for me but I did catch some on a ballhead with a Keitech as well. FWIW, I never did catch one on a dropshot at that spot which if you asked any angler, that would have been the best approach. Go figure, fish not behaving how we expect.

Garmin Livescope
FWIW, I run touch screens but one day I was at Cabelas tinkering with the GPSMAP screens (non-touch) and I found them intuitive for controlling the Livescope demo on the unit. I honestly have no preference now that I have tried both, you can’t go wrong with either but you might want to compare screen resolution, unit to unit before making your final decision.

St croix triumph 6'6" medium spinning?
I had one and I would label it as a good all purpose rod throwing 1/4 - 3/8 ounce jigs, spinners, t-rigs etc. the tip was pretty fast and I felt the backbone held its own. I have since moved onto longer rods and it was collecting dust so I found someone that could use it. FWIW, I think it’s worth it’s price.

Separate Live Scope Pole Mount
I've been one way, the other and now the best of both worlds using a Tackle Shack Ultrex pole mount. Before my current boat, I had a Deep V and I used a Fishing Specialties pole, it was great for spot locking and fishing crappie but lousy for bass for reasons others have mentioned, having to control something by hand or even foot while already controlling your TM. When I switched to a Mod V Boat, as Bass Fishing has taken over my brain and wallet , the LVS32 went onto the Ultex. I do enjoy the simplicity and control, leaving my hands to fish for Bass. Fast forward, I do still like to crappie fish once in a while and while position is everything when spot locked, have a boat come by and wake you or wind blow you around and it gets frustrating and that led me to my current solution, the best of both worlds. I did not want electric as those motors just cannot be as fast or even as finite accurate as manual control, manual is also cheaper so that led me to the pole I mentioned earlier. You can lock it into place so that it behaves exactly as if installed on the TM but the big benefit IMO is being able to go back to a 0 degree mount. Some may tell you they cannot see a difference between the stock 8 degree mount but you can and you'll find your targets are easier to lock on as well as see your lures easier.

Eye popping numbers
We have one in Pa next week. We always go and just like you, it’s a good way to get out of the winter mindset. A friend and I were joking about a boat he has interest in over the years and we are wondering if the price would be double compared to 4 years ago. I bet it will be close to double, especially since the price was a really good “show” price 4 years ago. No deals now…..

Opossum Lake (Central PA)
Marsh sees a good amount of “other” activity pressure but the fishing remains pretty good there in the warmer months. Leaser fished well for me this year but I know it’s becoming more known so who knows what the future holds? Harvesting was allowed this year and I seen quite a few boats loading up on crappie so it will be interesting to see what their numbers look like next year. I will go back to my earlier post though when it comes to winter time Bass fishing. The lakes are tough! Rivers are just easier. I live in the Green Lane area and have those 3 bodies of water and 2 in Boyertown that I do some legging out in the winter, tough tough tough!
