Ned is a game changer here in the clear water mountain reservoirs that I fish. I throw them on ML rod, 8# flouro leader, 1/16 - 1/15 , Nedlockz EWG heads. GP, GP red flake, the Deal. They work on a dead stick and slow swim. Plus they can be thrown anywhere on the weedless head which eliminated my biggest complaint..... hanging.

I've never fell victim to the lastest and greatest but do like to try gear from different manufacturers. If we're defining " latest and greatest " as being the most expensive rod or reel then I'll never be in that camp.

Not new but Ned rig. I camped on a lake for 2 weeks last year in early September and couldn't find a consistent bait until I succumbed and went with Ned. Was catching bass in every scenario, Rocks, wood, points, flats and even on a slow swim. Throw Ned in 2026.

Well you're a step ahead with protecting the boat from the elements. When I fish in the rain, I'll pull the boat out on first sunny day and open up all the compartments and let everything air out and dry before backing it back in. You can also put a dehumidifier in the garage.

I use speed clips with casting gear only. My fishing partner who is 68 and only uses spinning tackle won't use clips because everything with trebles foul on the cast. As well as spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. The back of my boat looks like a hair salon from all the retying 🫢
