  1. I consistently get 5 years out of deep cycle marine batteries when fully charged after each use and never completely deplete them.......Go lithium if you can.
  2. This may not be a popular response but at the end of the day, you'll skip better with spinning. My 2 favorite baits to skip are wacky rigged Senko's and Zoom flukes. The issue I have with casting gear is not while the bait is skipping, it's when the bait decides not to skip.
  3. Congrats on your PB ?
  4. Nice fish ? I'll be on the cold side in the morning.
  5. Hello sir and welcome to BR.
  6. BPS has many that you can try on to try to eliminate that Asian hornet appearance. Lol
  7. Welcome ?
  8. Wow, really sad to hear this. Prayers for his friends and family.
  9. I throw fewer crank baits than any other bait in my tackle bag but I'm usually throwing to cover where I have other baits I prefer. Look at the package to see what depth the bait runs and try to match that to where your throwing it. A bait that runs 15 - 20 feet will certainly dig and hang in say 8 - 10 feet of water.
  10. This is what I deal with and a proper definition for it.....goop. Not a single bait can avoid the stuff. It hangs on grass, hangs on wood, it floats and suspends.
  11. I've never removed a trailer from any bait unless it's worn out. Years ago when pork trailers were popular then yes, they would rust hooks if left on.
  12. Here in the western part of VA, we're behind where we were last year at this time......blooms and water temps. Been catching big females full of eggs but not on beds yet.
  13. The best wild game I've ever had was a mule deer taken by a family member on a hunt in South Dakota. Not had a fish I don't like but agree, salt water fish like flounder can't be beat. Imo
  14. That's actually another wild game meat I don't particularly care for. Good luck on your hunt .
  15. We're considerably behind last year at this time but look at it this way, it's a longer prespawn. It's breaking early next week so get out there and catch some.
  16. The speed of attack, wow.
  17. If you don't intend to eat your kill, there is always someone who will. I shot a bear last year and had locals fighting over it. Lol They remind me of an overgrown possum.

Their All comparable at a given price point. Imo BUT, once you get use to the functionality of a given brand, it's hard to stray. I started with Garmin and stayed with Garmin. Go to a BPS and toggle through some of the units features to give you an idea.
  19. I'm no expert in equatic vegetation and only know a few. Hydrilla would be one that I prefer to fish around and the outer edges of cattail. We have what I refer to as slime and that stuff doesn't care what bait you throw, it simply rides down the line and attaches itself to bait. I've never tried punching through Moss mat, prefer to cast to openings with Senko's, flukes or drag a frog across the top and let it settle in an opening.
  20. Been harvesting deer for 50 years and a deer that's been bled out and hung properly has way better taste than a deer that's been Head shot and instantly processed. Imo Not to be to graphic but when butchering hogs we'd slit the neck while the heart was still beating to expell the blood......it was a lot. This said, I'm thinking the gamey taste is in the blood.
  21. I consider a pair of quality polarized sunglasses as essential tackle, an absolute must and a place I won't skimp. Those glasses look legit so report back if you decide to go with them.
  22. My problem is stubbornness. If it's a body of water I've fished before and caught fish under a certain condition, I'll pre-tie the night before and Pound those same baits for hours thinking that I'll duplicate the same success........ does that make sense ? But as far as second guessing myself ? Only when I get skunked and after I've blamed it on water temps. Lol
  23. Yeah, if you Google the " dead minnow " technique, it works under every condition. It will certainly lead to the demise of the fishing industry.......it was good while it lasted.
  24. Got a sneaking feeling that man has been hand feeding that bass for quite awhile.
