  1. I use a group 27 deep cycle paired with a Minn Kota Endura Maxx 55lb thrust 36" shaft and can fish all day. The motor has a battery life indicator for reference. Oh, I much prefer the motor mounted in the bow " front " and battery in back. Enjoy. Edit: forgot to add, for bow mount, you must spin the motor head, 1 minute job by removing 1 screw.
  2. Curious if you were using weedless wacky hooks or not ?
  3. Not so sure color really matters with a buzzbait as it's a fairly fast moving reaction bait. I've caught as many on black as I have on white. Idk I do know it's a personal favorite and produces quality fish. Have several brands and have never removed the skirt or had the need for trailer hook......they work.
  4. Well you gotta admire his imagination......don't you.

I only have 4,114 bags and keep them in bottom drawer of gun cabinet and restock tackle box as needed. Lol
  6. If I'd paste a " no skunk " on my boat I'd be a prolific liar but water temps are in the 40's.......excuses excuses.

Not just Elaztech but every single soft plastic lives out it's life in original bag.
  8. Have a friend who fishes Anna often, from a bass boat though. He has one technique and does rather well......skipping wacky rig under docks.
  9. Trash, especially when someone on my boat fills their empty pop can or bottle and sinks it to the bottom of lake, PLEASE DON'T DO THAT ON MY BOAT!! This is a big one. Cigarette smoke, my fishing buddy of almost 50 years is a heavy smoker and no matter how we position the boat.....I smell smoke. AND, no smoking in my truck, thankyou.
  10. I actually had to go outside and try it for myself and observed the following. (1) gravity wants to flop the reel. (2) hooksets would obviously be compromises by eliminating anti-reverse. (3) the longer guide perches on spinning rods receive much greater stress in this unorthodox position. (4) have to believe hand fatigue would set in while fighting fish. Just to name a few.
  11. Opposites attract they say. My wife is " super " A type personality and has a photographic memory and keeps records. I couldn't tell you what I did yesterday. Lol But I do know what water temps to start throwing certain baits and section of lake that produce.
  12. I agree, Willie was a big part of that 1982 defensive juggernaut " Cards ".
  13. Spinning reels are all right handed. Baitcasters are right and left handed and do fine with either.
  14. Lol, last time it was 2 older guys and I set them up with drop-shot and Roboworms. Left the lake before I heard their results but I tried.
  15. Without running to the boat and looking, I believe all my various pliers are Kastking.
  16. And then there are fisherman like myself. " excuse me sir but what are you catching them on ? " Oh, pull up to my boat and I'll tie one on for ya' and explain it's technique. " thankyou very much sir, you are a fine gentleman ". I was brought up that way.
  17. Ya'll are killing me with these responses, great players but physical beauty......maybe not. Lol
  18. I hear the term " dime " in many sports articles that I read and it's becoming more popular. Is it just a cliche word that fits anywhere? Examples: Steph Curry was dropping dimes. Lebron James was dishing dimes. Tom Brady threw the perfect dime. Am I just not cool enough to understand?
  19. Watched drone footage from Mayfield, they definitely need prayer.
  20. Couple of other considerations. Riprap, those rocks absorb the heat from the sun. Banks that the sun has hit the longest. As mentioned, wind blown shores. Just enjoy and don't set the bar to high.
  21. This may be more personal than actual sound advice. I try to avoid fishing on really windy days as it reduces my effectiveness no matter what bait being thrown. I fish exclusively from a boat and battling for position while holding my hat on, trying to watch my line takes the pleasure out of fishing. I'm an older fellow " retired " and can pick and choose my days and wind is always the #1 consideration. If you simply can't avoid fishing in high wind then consider 1oz jigs and simply make the best of it and remember to be in constant contact with your bait or you may find the fish swallowing it.....another issue I've had in high wind.
  22. I skip much better around docks and under overhangs with spinning reels. All my finesse fishing is done with lighter line, lighter rods and reels, all done on spinning reels. I give a slight nod to power fishing but mixing it up when conditions dictate can be beneficial. I'm a 50/50 kinda guy.....50% wimp and 50% absolute stud. Lol
  23. Wow, the energy level.....entertaining. lol
  24. I'm also a big fan of Junebug......Ned rigs and worms. Like above, black & blue Jigs is a staple. Don't forget about peanut butter and jelly.
