1st fish in 30 deg water
Been fishing a long time and not once have I caught a bass in 30* water. Today I caught 2 throwing a Zoom speed craw on a 3/8 Shakyhead..... they were cold and didn't fight much, well they weren't big either. 🌝

Lure wheel choice
It really depends on water temps, time of year, time of day, spawn faze, water clarity , cloud cover and available cover. During prespawn, water temps in the 50's I may throw a jig all day. If the water is cloudy I may hang with a big 'ole spinnerbait. In the warmer months and fishing unfamiliar water is when I may have a deck full of rods and reels after I gave top water a shot. If you're looking for just an overall average during active months ? Personally, I start early with top water or you could say " power fishing " and always end up with some form of " finesse " .

Road To The Superbowl 2024
Yes, big difference. Elway and Kelly were actually getting to Super Bowls. Dak and Lamar are losing at home to underdogs and haven't sniffed a SB.

Road To The Superbowl 2024
Completely unbiased and I mean it. Baltimore is the best team that lost, Lamar is a clone of Dak Prescott. AND no doubt that KC and Swifty win the SB.......no doubt.

Why Wear a Life Jacket?
Mine stays in the boat and won't start the boat without it, the lanyard reminds me.

Stuff you did back in the day, that you shouldn't have done...
We were MUCH more responsible and used extra virgin olive oil to treat the roads 😂

How do YOU fish the split shot rig?
Very similar technique, the mojo rig. I use a floating worm and 1/8 tungsten weight and mainly drag the bait.
-
Who do you emulate and why?
Perhaps not emulate but always open to advice and willing to learn. Example: Apon joining this site I was exclusively a power fisherman using mainly casting gear. Now I'm at least 50% spinning and 50% finesse...... it's put more fish in the boat.

Cicada Apocalypse
My experience as well. Was fishing Jennings Randolph on the WV/MD line just a few years ago, biggest hatch I've ever seen.

Who do you insure your boat and tackle through?

Where did the old timers go?
I remember a guy by the user name of Cyclops, hilarious fellow. What happened to him ?
-
How do you differ and why?
Something I don't see very often but sure it's being done by some members. Early in the morning if I'm working top water, instead of casting towards the bank, I actually position the boat just off the bank and cast parallel. This allows much more water being covered during active times before the sun rises. Of course if you have a fishing partner, they always frown upon it.

How much snow this winter? And how are you moving it??
We've had several snows here in NW Virginia, not crippling but enough to plow. We live 1/2 mile off a state maintained road and I keep it opened with a Suzuki king quad 700. Of course a dry snow is preferable.

Where did the old timers go?
I'm an old timer with age but not much of a contributer 😳. I sneak in and gain knowledge and then flee. 😂

Predict your 2024 biggest bass
Since I've retired ," 4 years ago" and with many more hours of fishing, still haven't broken the 8lb mark on a largemouth in those years. So I'll say a couple of 6-7 lb fish will end up in the boat in 2024. BUT health and being able to be on the water trumps any expectations. Stay safe
