  1. Bone and Monkey butt have been my best colors and have caught the most on the 90 by far.
  2. Bird replied to Mobasser's topic in Everything Else
Wow 😳 this is the first I've heard of this....... unfathomable act of evil.
  3. Jackall, Robo, Zoom and River Rock custom are the main ones I throw and most often it's wacky, Shakyhead and drop shot. Favorite colors: Watermelon pepper Green pumpkin candy Purple Black/blue. During the warmer months probably spend 90% of the day throwing worms.
  4. Wife's FB keeps a not so detailed log as long as a photo has been provided and I definitely log water temps. Talking about a coincidence, I caught my biggest fish of the year 2 years in a row on the same date " April 2 " , at the same time " 10:30 am " on the same lake, same bank, throwing the same jig...... according to FB. Heck, probably same fish πŸ˜‚
  5. Maybe it's time for me to be educated. Does drop-shot require a floating bait? I throw it quite a bit and never pay mind to whether the bait floats. The knot that is tied keeps the bait vertical on a tight line. Mainly using Roboworms and Zoom lizards with great results.
  6. Maybe not swim baits but for that last several years I've caught more bass on Japanese designed baits than any other....... mainly Jackall.

So putting bass in a cage and then into a live well is actually happening 😳. I've seen videos of Bass being shoved full of lead weights but not heard of temporary captivity. Bass tournaments are becoming something of deceit.
  8. Been fishing for over 50 years. As a child we mainly fished the river and farm ponds, we ate everything we caught. I hit a major slow down when we started having children and I became a workaholic. Ended up selling the boat. Fast forward - Retired in 2019 and bought another bass boat and ended up engulfed with this incurable desire to fish.
  9. @DinkDonkey30 My fishing partner won't even throw a Texas rig, it's nothing but crank baits, spinnerbaits and buzz baits. Lol We get on a gin clear lake and I'm smoking them on a Ned or wacky finesse worm and offer to rig him up, he always declines. That's when I tell him " that's ok, you just sit back there and be my cheerleader then ". πŸ˜‚
  10. I got skunked twice in a row in December, water temp 42*. Went out last week for the first time in 2024 and caught my 1st LMb ever when water temps started with a 3, 38* to be exact. Winter fishing can be very slow but still enjoyable if you can find a unseasonably warm day.
  11. @Bankc Yeah that's the key. I fish a lot of WV lakes that are deep, clear and rocky, ideal habitat for SM.

Metallica concert got me. My wife has been saying for years that she's never seen anything like it...... I'm asleep inside of 10 seconds, motels, RVs while she's watching TV, doesn't matter.
  13. It was a great SB and sports media can find another " Mr irrelevant " , thought Purdy played great. I don't really have a favorite team but often root for the underdog. Would have loved to have seen a Texans vs Lions SB. 😁
  14. The lakes I fish with equal population of LM and SM, I consistently catch more SM, they seem to be more aggressive.
  15. Bird replied to clayton86's topic in Everything Else
63 here and in bed by 10 and up at 6 consistently.
  16. Does it have to be a glass boat ? There are a lot more options in aluminum. My Lowe Stinger 175 could be parked in a 20ft garage with motor trimmed down and would handle an 8ft wide door with patience.
  17. She must have gave the overseas concert from the wing of the jet to be back on US soil that quick. Earlier report claimed she could possibly miss kickoff. Can't believe the media πŸ˜‚
  18. Azuma Spro 6th sense Rapala Bomber Without looking, I believe that's all I have in the crank box.
  19. @PhishLI Will definitely give this a try. Really like Elaztech and throw a lot of Shakyhead and tried heating the spring keeper with limited results. Much appreciated πŸ‘
  20. I've had several failures on the water with one requiring a tow. Fuel has never been an issue though simply because my boat doesn't sit long and fresh fuel is being added regularly " non ethanol " . Blew a lower unit last year on the water but luckily only 300 yards from the ramp.
  21. I'm rooting for SF but from a betting standpoint, can't get myself to bet against Mahomes.
  22. I have 2 pairs of prescription progressive lens glasses. My insurance covered only 1 pair but I went ahead and opted for a pair of polarized " not covered " .... best investment I've made after the boat. Mine are Oakley in amber.
  23. Well since this thread started I've already changed insurance companies 😁. Now with that little green lizard with an accent, saved a bundle by bundling πŸ˜ƒ
  24. My bad, 1st fish I've ever caught with water temps below 40......it was actually 38*. Should have said 1st fish with water temps in the 30's πŸ˜ƒ Yes, I misquoted, Water temp was 38*. Should have said 30's instead of 30.
