Why is bass fishing so popular?
Ok it's Striped bass NOT " Strippers " ........I know the difference unfortunately 😂

Why is bass fishing so popular?
On some of the bigger clear water lakes around here, Strippers are actually more popular than LM. When I crossover into WV, it's all about trout.

Why is bass fishing so popular?
Because of Covid, everyone ran out and bought a bass boat.

Proven methods that you just forget about
Ned rig ! They catch fish but when the guy in the back of the boat is a diehard power fisherman, he's made 10 casts while Ned is bobbing around. Never threw one in 2023 and yet this year.

Used well made bass boats recommendations
If I were to buy a new glass boat today it would be a Vexus AVX 2080.

Are Tubes Still a Thing?
I have a drawer full of tubes, 100's but haven't thrown one in years. Maybe I need to reevaluate.

Mirrored versus non mirrored glasses
Mine are prescription amber, no mirror. I've had mirror and had no issues. I'd say whatever makes you look the coolest 😉

What is your fishing Dogma?
I never catch a sizable fish if the net is ready and accessible, you have to dig for it. If you leave your cell phone / camera in the vehicle you'll have an epic day on the water. All lost fish are potentially a PB.

How big y’all think?
That's a 6lb fish that likely " identifies" as a female 😁.........congrats and welcome to the forum.

Do you switch hands when you cast a baitcaster?
Half of my baitcasters are left handed and half of my baitcasters are right handed so this means I'm switching hands half the time........ never give it much thought.

Kastking Centron
My fishing partner has 5 Okuma Ceymar spinning reels and brags about them every trip...... check them out. I have (1) Kastking Sharky spinning reel and have no complaints.

Help-Mental Block about muddy Water!’
Nothing reduces my confidence more than getting to a lake or river after days of heavy rain to find muddy water but that's mainly because I'm use to fishing ultra clear water. The upside is I love throwing a spinnerbait and while I do well in clear water with them because they trigger a reaction strike, they excel in murky water. That said, Last year in very muddy water on a lake I've never fished, caught my only fish on a black Senko....... black gives the best contrast in dark water. Imo

Time to go fishing in a trout stream.
@cyclops2 Curious to know what your looking to accomplish by fishing with hookless baits. I know blue crabs will hang on to bait until they can be netted at the surface.

Favorite spinnerbait rod recommendations
I only throw 3/8 spinnerbaits, casting gear, straight braid. Fenwick elite M-MF.

Your Go-To Lure
My biggest fish of the year for several years in a row have come on jigs " prespawn " . Favorite bait to throw - spinnerbait Bait that puts the most fish in the boat consistently - Jackall flickShake 4.8 watermelon candy on 1/16 wacky head.

When is the next election for Moderators?
Yes, Cyclops seems a valid candidate........ very stable. 😁

Best way to improve?
If you're fishing clear water then focus on finesse. If you're fishing stained water then start with a spinnerbait. If you're confused, throw a wacky worm, they catch.

Boat trailer wheel bearing grease
Ha Ha , I change a lot of oil for various family members and have various colored grease , " red-black-green-blue ". Mix and match dino and synthetic oils just to reduce inventory, never an issue....... it's all slippery. I have rainbow 🌈 colors coming out of grease fittings..... it's all slippery.

Why don't bass like the mud?
For largemouth in lakes, I avoid shallow mud flats as that's where the carp hang out. During the warmer months when the fish spread out then structure and cover Trump's bottom composite. IMO Our water is gin clear and during the spawn you can physically see the fish on beds, never see them in mud.

7”+ Stick Worms: Rigging Advice
I fish a Manns 10" jelly worm with a 5/0 hook.

What lures should I throw?
Shallow water Lay downs and stumps are screaming spinnerbaits. IMHO

Boat anchors
While I have an anchor 🔱, haven't used it in many years on any boat. Spot-lock is the technology of today. If you're using fish finders, dropping a bouy in conjunction with a trolling works better than dropping an mud stirring anchor. IMO
