Some here know I had a stroke in September 2022. It was a long road back and while I have to use a cane I feel very fortunate it wasn't worse. 

 

I all but retired and when my baby brother fell ill with cancer for the second time(terminal) I was blessed to be able to care for him for the 6 months he stayed with me and Tresa. He was only 57. 

 

I was liking every day being Saturday. I bought a new tackle shed, kept myself busy, and decided 2024 I was simply going to fish, even it that meant sitting in a seat. 

 

I got a call from my old employer to come do some consulting work. They paid cash and I was fine helping out a company I had worked for since 1984. I went in and was told their problem spot and went out and observed. I knew a few of the folks and through conversations they were constantly having their machines adjusted by a new plant manager. Their cull rate on parts was 35%. 

 

I spent the next day in that area adjusting machinery, cook and dwell times, and made sure parts were waiting on them ready to load. We worked together for three days and things were going well. 

 

The plant manager came to me and blessed me out for reducing production numbers by 2 % . I asked him what they had thrown away? He didn't answer.

 

I got paid that day and told them not to call me anymore. Numbers.... what good are they if they're bad?

 

On the drive home I decided then and there I will not work for anyone else again. 

 

As of March I will officially be retired. See y'all on the lake!
