  1. Search for "jointed jitterbug 5/8" you'll see the $5.99 price
  2. Gee thanks for bringing this thread up ? I've knew that I've always owned some jitterbugs but I never took them seriously and now that I look over what I have I can tell I am slacking bad. So I got on the auction site and found a good deal and I know @JediAmoeba needs to know about this too and yes I know you already have jitterbugs. But there is a seller on there has the jointed 3.5" 5/8oz in about 7 colors $5.99 each. I managed to snag 3 of the black for $23 shipped. So anybody following along there's you a source for a hard to find lure and color.
  3. Makes me wanna watch it although I do recall some risqué lines by June on an episode when she said... "Ward you was a lil rough on the beaver last night" ? Lord I appologize for that and be with the starving pymies in New Guinea
  4. Only use them if you want to catch a big sassy bass! They were one of the lures of my childhood and as said above the 2.5" caught everything in the water. I would buy a 1 or 2 pack at Walmart that came pre rigged on a bright silver jighead back in the early '90's. Those and pink zoom trick worms and I thought I was a mini Bill Dance. I'm glad you brought this back up I need to rekindle my love affair with little swim baits.
  5. Sometimes you have to pay to play.
  6. Nice! Does the packaging call it a ZZ pop? Here is a few more oldie but goodies I have but sadly only examples I have so far.
  7. Texas rig a crankbait. I think in Japan it is called jacking.
  8. This lure is aprox 20-30 years old. Looking at the bend of the wire and that beautiful head on it, what do I have here? Disregard the skirt as it is mins old. Has the usual marked patent and number on blade. Thanks
  9. Guess brand and model. Winner gets an all expenses paid free post of a pic to the thread!!
  10. If you look at Walmart you can find these lil clear plastic "shoes boxes" for around $2. I like to use these as storage for my reserve supply and not currently used soft plastics. You can get 30-35 bags in each one depending on type of lure.
  11. Sort of similar to Marks bat. Here is some lures I think I got in a yard sale bought tacklebox once upon a time. These are some Buck Perrys spoon plugs from the '70s. They were sold in lots of 5 as well as individual so I suspect that is responsible for this family of 5 "frogs ".
  12. I keep my worms in the sack they came in.
  13. I only keep the memory of their cooperation to my cause, that and the lingering fishy smell til it wears off. If I am afforded the luxury of sharing their protective slime coat, I ain't bout to ruin it with stinkin soap ☺️ It hurts me to see fish kept, I admit it. I love bass so much it would not surprise me if I was to come back as one in the next life- I imagine if anyone wanted to catch me just throw some quality branded lure w/ better rings and hooks or any JDM, I'll bite...
  14. A basses lateral line can do amazing things. Any lure can catch fish even in chocolate milk. Spinnerbaits do up the ante though.
  15. A day or 2 ago I read in a thread on here where Paul Roberts discussing the fishing of a body of water for 12 hours he said "that each hour was a whole new world". Each hour of the day light penetrates differently, water temps fluctuate, forage species change their occupancy of areas. So trial and error, of throwing the topwater and other presentations into those "new worlds" around the clock will allow us to "let" the bass tell us what they want as is commonly said by fishers.
  16. @Fishes in trees those bats are common on E bay around $10 or less. I agree it will be fun see how they do in the water.
  17. For show and tell... Sam Griffin Lures "The King of Topwater". Sam guided and designed his lures from his home on Okeechobee. You might recall his designs sold thru Luhr Jensen and others. These lures are handcrafted from Sugar Pine and the boxed "Nippin Sam" is dated 1989. Other lure models pictured are the Lil Richard, Offset Sam, Florida Shad, Skinny Water Sam, Moonshine Special, among others I've yet to identify. Hoping to see some older lures added to this thread!
  18. You said that right! Been thinking bout changing over to "Smells Like Skunk"
  19. Another day, another fix... Overdose level! I can't stop, I don't wanna stop
  20. I am not at all surprised by the dedication and sacrifice members like you make. Looking at your avatar pic I can see the intensity in your eyes and in those clenched claws how ever so reminiscent of a good supple jig trailer. And how after fighting scaled beasts you have the fortitude to gobble down finger licking good bbq though your fingers smell like fish!!! Here's to you sir for your perseverance. Edit: and may Dicks worms be many!
  21. Well, there's always baseball!
  22. Green pumpkin is a safe bet for picking a color of soft plastic lure. Yum dinger in that color with a size 3/0 hook will catch fish. Zoom brand has lots of good soft spot plastic affordable options! If it were me I'd go spend that $40 at Wal mart. Lots of popular lures in the popular colors and priced right.
  23. Sounds like you'll fit in here just fine. Welcome aboard.
  24. In today's world of monthly box subscriptions filled with filler who knows.
