How did you get into Bass fishing?
Started off crappie and catfishing with my dad(That was all he fished for) then one Saturday(or Sunday maybe?) morning, when I was about 9 or ten, I woke up and was flipping through the channels on the tv and all of a sudden I heard "The music". It played as I watched men on shiny sleek boats hauling bass upon bass across the bow of their High horsepower rocket ships and then Ray Scott said "I'm Ray Scott don't go away we'll be right back with Bassmasters." and I was hooked.

How many carry while out fishing in the boat.
Carrying a firearm is not just a decision to be made off the cuff without any consideration. When it comes down to it while I am an American and I believe wholeheartedly in the second amendment and that every citizen should have the right to defend themselves, but there are some out there who are just not cut out to carry a firearm. It is a very important personal decision that does not come without serious responsibility and a little training. As far as pulling your gun and using it. It is a simple formula that is applied to a complex problem. A firearm should always be your LAST option when all else fails. If you carry then you need to be mindful that your are carrying a firearm and things are a bit different for you. Your first option should always be leaving the conflict. If that is not possible then avoiding physical altercation. Your mindset when it comes to carrying should always be de-escalation. Not aggression. If all else fails and you are under reasonable threat to your life then a firearm is justified but not before. This is the fine line that you need to understand before you carry. It will never be ok to shoot someone because they yelled at you or they hit your boat or destroyed property. ONLY WHEN YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER OR SERIOUS PHYSICAL HARM IS IMINENT. If that's not a commitment you are willing or able to make then carrying a firearm might not be for you.

Inflatable PFD Went Off By Itself
Buy one of those moisture absorbing tubs(amazon has them) and keep it in whatever container you keep your pfds in. (Closet, trunk, whatever) Never keep your auto inflate PFDS in your boat as eventually they will always go off due to boat compartments being mostly water tight. Liquid will seep in over the channels that the doors sit on. I keep mine in an old wardrobe I bought at the flea market for 10 bucks and put it in my man cave and run a dehumidifier 24/7 in there which does the exact same job as the moisture tub.

Show off your Stuff
Found these two gems at the flea market today. Guy had 35 each on them i got them for 60 for both. Abu Revo max dlc(digital line counter) these are going on my herring drop rods for stripers!

In love with the abu garcia black max, your opinions?
Because it's an opinion. Just because yours does not align with others doesn't make them(or you) right or wrong. It's just an opinion. I have my reasons for thinking the black max is a top quality budget reel just as you have reasons for not. It's all subjective. But I will say that people get too caught up in Brand loyalty and judging others because of it these days. No matter what reel you fish as long as you bring good fellowship, conversation and no bananas, you would be welcome on my boat. 😁

In love with the abu garcia black max, your opinions?
I have nothing but ABU reels. I'm not a fan of their rods except for the pro series where I own a few different models of those. I have everything from Zenons down to the vengeances and in my opinion the black max is just about one of the best budget reels out there. I still have a few black maxes rigged up on my boat right now. strangely almost every one of the other budget offerings from ABU is pure garbage though. The silver max, blue max, vengeance, all hot garbage and I would buy them ever again.

Topwater vs Squarebill vs Lipless Crank rods
I use a med/heavy for an topwater rod and a medium fast for a squarebill and lipless. You could get away with using the squarebill and the lipless on the same rod but I like a little stiffer rod for topwater myself.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Picked up this bad boy for 20 bucks today at the flea market. Megabass Vatalion glide bait. I can't remember what color this was but it looks alot like a blueback herring to me so I had to have it and for 20 bucks I was giddy!

Motorized or not
I had a motor in my titan. I took it off. I just use the pedal drive now. Gives me(makes me) exercise when I kayak fish and I need it!

A good gift idea.
Yep keep one under the back seat in my Taco. Great little piece of kit and pretty essential if you travel alot in my opinion.

Jigs that don’t work for you…
Black and blue is my literal go to when I can't catch on any other color. LMAO PB&J doesn't do much for me unless it's a soft plastic worm on a shaky head or ned rig. Black and Chartreuse/green for some reason doesn't work as well as blue either for me.

Boating safety in the summertime
In NC you have to have a spotter(which I did) but there is no flag law. What I've always taught my kids to do is wave one arm in the air as high as they can until I get back to them with the boat plus I try to position the boat between them and any oncoming traffic I see(which can be hard on the water since people come from all directions.) I also don't buy dark colored ski vests it doesn't help much I don't think but anything I can do. Most of my jackets are florescent yellow or orange but I have one pink one and my boys fight to get to one of the other colors so they don't get stuck with the pink one. I try to stay out of the main water but this past trip there were literally people EVERYWHERE and it was hard to find empty water. After the tow rope incident(Which was only like the second run we made) we all decided to just go sit on the shore and play around in the shallows because it was just too dangerous out there.

BFS Ned Rig Rod
I use an Abu Garcia Pro series Justin Lucas shakey head rod. I believe it is a medium action so I wouldn't call it BFS but it does a great job.

Favorite jig colors
Black and blue is my favorite color followed by green pumpkin and red also know as High Rock Craw around here(Because it's known for it's success on High Rock)

Boating safety in the summertime
I was watching the girl the whole time on the jet ski. The problem is she peeled left abruptly almost as if she didn't see the tube dragging behind my boat and it surprised her and she lost control a little bit trying to miss it. If she had of maintained her course she would have avoided me and the tube altogether.

Boating safety in the summertime
Just want to remind everyone that it is summer and the idiots are on the water everywhere! Yesterday I decided to take my family out for a day on Lake Keowee SC to enjoy some fresh air sun and fun on the water. I put the ski rig on my fish and ski and to the lake we went. I was pulling my 18 year old son on a tube when he wiped out and a big Seadoo loaded with 3 Young girls(probably 16-18) literally ran over my tow rope between the boat and the tube as I was heading back to pick up my rider. They were gone before I could get a side number and thankfully was nowhere near my kid as I was already turned around heading to pick him up thankfully but it just reiterated the fact that while you may be a confident and capable watercraft operator there are MANY out there who are not. Stay safe...

Is there a lure or technique you would like to master, but just can't seem to figure it out?
While I'm not bad I always want to get better with jigs in general.

VMC Redline fluke hook
Yes I always use a swivel when fishing my fluke weightless. And by gimmicky I mean "Hey let's attach the swivel to the hook and charge almost 4 dollars per hook and call it something new!
